This study aims to focus on the actor in the thought of Augusto Boal; one of the leading names of the second half of the twentieth century who expressed opinions on the pedagogical aspect of theatre and the need to address the theatre with a new poetics. In this respect, the scope of this study begins by unfolding the social incidents in 1960’s Brazil in a period of oppression and coups which influenced his political views, carving the way for the idea of The Theatre of the Oppressed, followed by the new characteristics adopted in his approach during his years in exile in Europe after 1980, the close relationship established with therapy and finally, the ways in which all the above have contributed to the expansion of how the actor is perceived. In a chronological survey, discussed in parallel to social changes, this paper shows how Boal’s approach defines the actor in a new frame, and how, as it struggles to produce responses to social impacts, it strives to transform each and every oppressed being into “social actors”. |

Bu çalışma 20.yüzyılın ikinci yarısında tiyatronun yeni bir poetika ile ele alınmasında ve pedagojik yönü üzerinde fikir yürüten öncü isimlerden biri olan Augusto Boal’in oyuncu hakkındaki görüşlerine odaklanmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda 1960’larda Brezilya’da baskı ve darbeler sürecinde politik görüşlerini etkileyen toplumsal olaylardan başlayarak Ezilenlerin Tiyatrosu düşüncesinin ortaya çıkış sürecine ardından da 1980 sonrasında Avrupa’da sürgünde geçirdiği yıllarda yaklaşımına kattığı yeni özelliklere, terapi ile yakınlaşmalarına ve bunların oyuncuyu algılama biçimine getirdiği açılımlara göz atılmıştır. Kronolojik bir akışla, toplumsal değişimlerle paralel ele alınan Boal’in yaklaşımının oyuncuyu nasıl yeni bir çerçevede tanımladığı ve toplumsal etkilere yanıtlar üretmeye çalışırken tüm ezilenleri nasıl birer “toplumsal aktör” hâline getirmeye çalıştığı ortaya konulmuştur. |
