dc.description In this study, nickel modified asphalt binder (NMAB) was obtained by modifying the asphalt binder at various rates with a new additive that has metallic properties, the active ingredient of which is nickel oxide. As a result of the physical and performance experiments performed on the NMAB, it was observed that there were changes in the physical properties of asphalt that could be considered more suitable for use in cold climates. It has been determined that the penetration and ductility of the asphalt binder were increased whereas the viscosity and softening point decreased by the addition of the additive. In the Marshall stability test, it was calculated that the stability value increased by 4.21% and Marshall flow value was found to have increased by 5%.
dc.description Bu çalışmada etkin maddesi Nikel Oksit (NiO) olan metalik özellikli yeni bir katkı maddesi ile asfalt bağlayıcı çeşitli oranlarda modifiye edilerek Nikel Modifiye Asfalt Bağlayıcı (NMAB) elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen NMAB üzerinde yapılan fiziksel ve performans deneyleri sonucunda asfalt bağlayıcının fiziksel özelliklerinde soğuk iklimlerde kullanımı daha uygun sayılabilecek değişiklikler olduğu görülmüştür. Katkı maddesinin asfalt bağlayıcının penetrasyon değerini ve düktilitesini artırdığı, viskozite ve yumuşama noktasını düşürdüğü tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan Marshall stabilite ve akma testlerinde, modifikasyonun stabilite değerini %4.21, akma değerini ise %5 artırdığı belirlenmiştir.
