dc.description The need and consumption of energy in the world is increasing day by day and this causes more carbon emissions and global warming. In this respect, energy consumption optimizations in every industry field are very meaningful. Ring spinning, one of the sub-branches of Textile, which is an important industrial branch in our country, also has an important place in energy consumption. Ring machines are the most energy consuming machine group in ring spinning plants. The spindle type, which is one of the most important factors affecting energy consumption in these machines, is under the scope of the study. The effects of spindle wharve diameter, neck and footstep bearings’ diameters on energy consumption were investigated. In the study, in which general information was given about the effect of spindle and energy consumption, energy measurements were made in different machines under operating conditions to see how the diameter of the spindle wharve and the neck bearing diameter affect the energy consumption in practice. As a result of the analysis; It has been observed that approximately 5% energy saving has been achieved thanks to the narrower spindle wharve diameter and the neck bearing diameter.
