dc.description This study aims to determine the types, reasons, results of stigma, and suggestions for managing stigmatization among nurses working in the hospitals. In the study, the indepth interviews were conducted with 20 nurses, who have the related experiences, agreed to participate in the study and had have at least 10 years of working experience, through a semi-structured interview form by using phenomenological design. Once the views of the participants, selected by using criterion and snowball purposeful sampling methods, were coded as open, axis and selective, the categories were reached in accordance with the inductive method.As a result of the study, the types, reasons, and results of stigma and the preventative suggestions for stigmatization were determined. It has been found that stigmatization is common among the nurses working in the hospital, especially on professional, political and moral issues. As a result, stigmatized people face devastating factors such as divorce, relocation, exile, being forced to retire.
