Çarlık Rusya'sının son dönemleri ile Sovyetler Birliği'nin ilk dönemlerinde Ruslar, Kazak Türklerini asimile etmek ve Hristiyanlaştırmak için çeşitli politikalar uygulamışlardır. Buna tepki olarak Kazak aydınları eğitim ve yayın faaliyetleriyle Müslüman Kazak halkını bilinçlendirmeye çalışmışlardır. Bu çalışma, bahsedilen dönemlerde yaşamış Kazak aydınların din, eğitim ve değerlerle ilgili temel görüşlerini ele almaktadır. Araştırmada ilk önce Çarlık ve Sovyet dönemlerinde Kazak topraklarında yaşamış olan dört Kazak fikir adamının tanıtımı, sonra da bunların Kazak toplumunda oluşturdukları etkinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışma üç bölüm ve sonuç kısmından oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın giriş bölümünde, konunun belirlenmesi ve sınırlandırılması, araştırmanın amacı ve önemi, kavramsal çerçevesi, araştırmanın yöntemi ve konuyla ilgili çalışmalarla ilgili bilgiler verilmiştir. Birinci bölümde Kazak adının kökeni, Kazak Türklerinin Tarihi, Kazak halkının dinî, sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik yapısı hakkında kısa bilgilendirme yapılmıştır. İkinci bölümde Çarlık Rusya öncesinde Kazakistan'daki mekteplerde talim ve terbiye esasları, Çarlık Rusya'sının eğitim politikası, 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Kazak halkının eğitim durumu, 19. ve 20. yüzyıllarda faaliyet gösteren medreseler ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise Çarlık ve Sovyet dönemlerinde yetişen dört Kazak aydınının din, eğitim ve değerlerle ilgili görüşleri belirlenmeye ve değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. In the last period of Tsarist Russia and the early periods of the Soviet Union, the Russians implemented various policies to assimilate and Christianize the Kazakh Turks. In response to this, the Kazakh intellectuals also tried to educate and raise awareness of the Muslim Kazakh people through education and publication activities. This study deals with the basic views of Kazakh intellectuals who lived in the mentioned periods about religion, education and values. In the study, firstly four Kazakh intellectuals who lived in Kazakh lands during the Tsarist and Soviet times were introduced, and then it was aimed to examine the extent of their influence on Kazakh society. The study consists of three chapters and a conclusion part. In the introduction part of the study, information about the determination and limitation of the subject, the purpose and importance of the research and its conceptional framework, the method of the research and the studies on the subject and their evaluations were given. In the first chapter, brief information about the origin of the name Kazakh, a short history of the Kazakhs, the religious, social, cultural and economic structure of the Kazakh people, the situation of the Kazakhs during the Tsarist and Soviet times were provided. In the second chapter, the principles of education and training at schools in Kazakhistan before the Tsarist Russia period, the education policy of the Tsarist Russia, the educational status of the people in the Kazakh steppes in the second half of the 19th century, and the madrasahs operating in the Kazakh steppes in the 19th and 20th centuries were discussed. In the third chapter, the views of four Kazakh intellectuals who grew up in the Tsarist and Soviet periods on religion, education and values were tried to be determined and evaluated. In the conclusion part, the obtained findings and results were summarized and some generally applicable suggestions were made.
