Bu araştırmada, uluslararası öğrencilerin Covid-19 pandemisi sürecinde karşılaştıkları uyum problemlerini ve bu problemlerle baş etme stratejilerini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülen çalışmada durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 akademik yılında Ege Üniversitesi’nde lisansüstü öğrenim gören altı uluslararası öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplamada araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmış ve elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda uluslararası öğrencilerin uyum sürecini zorlaştıran başlıca problemlerin iletişim sorunları ile pandemi döneminin olumsuz etkileri olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Pandemi dönemi kısıtlamaları öğrencilerin barınma sorunları, ekonomik ve akademik problemler yaşamasına yol açmıştır. Bunun yanında sosyo-kültürel farklılıkların yol açtığı sorunlar ile duygusal sorunlar öğrencilerin yaşadığı dikkat çeken diğer sorunlar olmuştur. Uluslararası öğrenciler iletişim problemlerinin çözümü için dil öğrenme, pandeminin olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak için kısıtlamalarına uyma yoluna gitmiştir. Sosyo-kültürel sorunlarla baş etmede arkadaşlık ilişkilerini geliştirme ve Türk kültürünü tanımaya çalışmak; akademik sorunlarla baş etmede ders çalışmaya daha çok vakit ayırmak ve eğitimlere katılmak; duygusal problemler ile baş etmede ise arkadaş edinmek ve aile ile konuşmak uluslararası öğrencilerin kullandığı stratejiler olmuştur.This research aims to reveal the adaptation issues faced by international students during the Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies to cope with these problems. The case study design was used in the study conducted with the qualitative research method. The study group comprised six international students currently enrolled at Ege University for the academic year 2021-2022. A semi-structured interview form crafted by the researchers was employed for data collection and the content analysis technique was utilized to analyze the obtained data. As a result of the analyses, it was ascertained that the primary challenges hampering the adaptation of international students are communication difficulties and the deleterious consequences of the pandemic period. Restrictions imposed during the pandemic have been the source of several difficulties for students, including housing, economic and academic issues. Furthermore, a range of socio-cultural and emotional challenges have been observed among students due to the current situation. In order to remedy their communication issues, international students have endeavored to acquire languages and have adhered to the restrictions to mitigate the detrimental effects of the pandemic. International students have been striving to create friendships and gain an understanding of Turkish culture in order to cope with socio-cultural issues; devoting more time to study and participating in activities in order to address academic difficulties; making friends and communicating with family to address emotional challenges.
