Sigortalı kişileri ve toplumun tamamını sosyal riskler karşısında korumakla sorumlu olan Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK) tarafından SARS CoV2 virüsü sebebiyle Covid-19 hastalığına yakalanan sağlık profesyonellerine 5510 sayılı Kanun kapsamında hastalık sigortası edimleri sağlanırken, bu hastalıktan dolayı hayatını kaybeden sağlık çalışanlarının hak sahibi (eş-çocuk-anne-baba) yakınlarına ölüm sigortası edimleri sunulmaktadır. SGK tarafından sunulan edimler sivil toplum örgütleri, siyaset kurumu ve akademik çalışmalarda tartışılmaktadır. Mevcut tartışmalar genel olarak Covid-19 hastalığının meslek hastalığı olarak kabul edilerek sağlanacak hakların İş Kazası ve Meslek Hastalığı Sigortası kapsamında değerlendirilmesinin önemi ve gerekliliği ekseninde yürütülmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, mevcut tartışmaların dışına çıkarak sadece Covid-19 değil gelecekte de yaşanması muhtemel tüm salgınlarla mücadele dönemlerinde hastalığın tespit edilmesi, bulaşının önlenmesi ve tedavisi sürecinde görev alan sağlık çalışanlarının virüs sebebiyle hastalanmaları ve hayatlarını kaybetmeleri durumunda kendileri ve hak sahibi yakınlarının sosyal güvenlik haklarını düzenleyecek etkili ve kalıcı bir politika geliştirmektir.While the Social Security Institution (SGK), which is responsible for protecting the insured persons and the entire society against social risks, provides health insurance to health professionals who have contracted the Covid-19 disease due to the SARS CoV2 virus, within the scope of Law No. 5510. child-mother-father) survivors insurance acts are offered to their relatives.
