Bu yaklaşım, kentsel sürdürülebilirliğin ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın tek boyutlu olmadığını, yerel yönetimler tarafından bir alt birim için verilen/uygulanan kararın sistemin tümünü çeşitli yönlerden etkileyebileceğini açıklar. Bu doğrultuda çalışma kapsamında Nexus (bağlantı) yaklaşımının yerel yönetimlerin sürdürülebilirlik hedefi doğrultusunda entegre yönetişim ve politika tutarlılığı anlayışı geliştirmesine sunduğu katkının literatür çerçevesinde ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Scopus veri tabanı ve MAXQDA ile gerçekleştirilen çalışmada, 2014-2024 yılları arasında Nexus yaklaşımını sosyal, ekonomik ve çevresel sürdürülebilirlik boyutlarıyla ele alan araştırmalar değerlendirme kapsamına dahil edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda son 10 yılda Nexus yaklaşımını sürdürülebilirlik boyutlarıyla ele alan çalışmalardaki ikili, üçlü veya dörtlü kavramsal ilişkiler belirlenmiştir. This approach elucidates that urban sustainability and sustainable development are not one-dimensional, and decisions made/applied by local governments for a subunit can affect the entire system in various ways. Accordingly, within the scope of this study, the contribution of the Nexus approach to the development of integrated governance and policy consistency by local governments towards sustainability goals is presented within the framework of the literature. To this end, research conducted between 2014-2024 that addresses the Nexus approach with social, economic, and environmental sustainability dimensions was included in the evaluation, utilizing the Scopus database and MAXQDA. Within the last decade, conceptual relationships in studies addressing the Nexus approach with sustainability dimensions were identified in binary, ternary, or quaternary forms.
