Bu çalışma, yönetim kurulu niteliklerinin cari dönem ve gelecekteki finansal performanslara etkilerini araştırma amacıyla yapılmaktadır. Çalışma amacı doğrultusunda BIST 100 endeksinde yer alan ve finansal olmayan 43 işletme verileri ile oluşturulan örnekleme panel veri analizi uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada, yönetim kurullarının büyüklükleri, bağımsız üye sayıları, kadın üye ve icracı üye sayıları ile yönetim kurulu toplantı sayıları bağımsız değişken olarak kullanılmıştır. Bağımlı değişken olarak cari dönem aktif karlılığı, gelecek dönemlere ilişkin aktif karlılık ve ortalama aktif karlılık değerleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma bulguları, yönetim kurullarında yer alan bağımsız üyelerin İşletmelerin cari dönem finansal performanslarını olumsuz etkilediğini göstermektedir. Yönetim kurullarında bulunan kadın üyelerin ise İşletmelerin gelecek dönem finansal performanslarına olumlu ve anlamlı katkı sağladıkları ayrıca, icracı olmayan üyelerin ortalama finansal performanslar açısından önemli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra likidite oranları ve faaliyet oranlarının İşletmelerin finansal performanslarına olumlu yönde katkısı bulunurken, sermaye yoğunluklarının ise olumsuz etkileri olduğu belirlenmiştir.This study is conducted to investigate the effects of board of directors' qualifications on current and future financial performances. To the study, sampling panel data analysis, which was created with the data of 43 non-financial companies in the BIST 100 index, was applied. In the study, the size of the boards of directors, the number of independent members, the number of female and executive members, and the number of board meetings are used as independent variables. As the dependent variable, current period returns on assets, return on assets for future periods and average return on assets were used. The findings of the study show that the independent members of the board of directors negatively affect the current period financial performance. It has been determined that the female members of the board of directors make a positive and significant contribution to the future financial performances, and that the non-executive members are important in terms of average financial performance. In addition, it was determined that while liquidity ratios and activity ratios contributed positively to financial performances, capital intensities had negative effects.
