Nefs tezkiyesi, günümüze dek Gazzali'nin yolunda yürüyen herkesin şahitlik ettiği üzere onun büyük bir titizlik ve ustalıkla ele aldığı en önemli konulardan biri kabul edilmektedir. Nefs tezkiyesi, ahlakî bir eğitim, nefsi şirkten arındırıp onu tevhid ile güzelleştirme, Allah'a karşı kamil kullukla ahlaklanmak ve Rasulüllah (sas)'a uymak şeklinde tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışma nefs, ruh ve kalp kavramlarına ışık tutmayı ve insan vücudunda nefsin nasıl çalıştığını ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Bu hedefini de nefsin hal ve derecelerini tanıtmak ve nefs ve ruh arasındaki farkları tanıtmak yoluyla gerçekleştirecektir. Daha sonra da nefs tezkiyesi ve onun gerçekleştirilmesi için gerekli olan adımları ele alacaktır. Çalışma ayrıca kalbin çeşitlerini, hastalıklarını ve bunların tedavilerini de ele alacaktır. Son kısımda da Allah'ı tanımada muhabbetullahın ve tezkiyenin meyvelerini ve bunların sadece ibadet hayatındaki yansımalarını değil; aynı zamanda her türlü davranış ve ahlaktaki yansımalarına da değinecektir. Al-Ghazzali is considered one of the first speaker about self-purification in a systematic manner, after he reached a high rank in the sciences of his time and became the argument of Islam in his time, and the news of all rational and methodological schools. A Muslim engages in it in order to tame himself, free him from polytheism, sweeten it with monotheism, and adorn it with good manners, in submission to God and following the example of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him. The current study aims to shed light on the system of the soul, soul and heart and how they function in the human entity, by identifying the conditions and degrees of the soul and the difference between the soul and the soul, and then identifying the self-purification and the steps necessary to achieve it. The study also presents the types of hearts, their diseases and methods of treatment; then, in conclusion, he presented the means of God's love and the fruit of purification in getting to know God Almighty and its reflection not only on worship and obedience, but also on behavior, morals, and all transactions and behaviors.
