Bu çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde deizmin terminolojisi, tarihi arka planı ve deizmin çeşitleri hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. Burada öncelikle genel teorileri bakımından deizmin kaynağı, akabinde deizmin doğuşunu hazırlayan Hristiyan teolojisi ve Aydınlanma dönemindeki bilimsel gelişmelerin deistik yaklaşımlara etkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Deizmin kaynağı ayrıntılı şekilde irdelenerek İslâmî akidenin deizmin ortaya çıkışıyla etkisi sorgulanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, klasik dönemde deizmin ilkelerine benzer ilkeleri savunan yaklaşımlara yer verilmiştir. Burada özellikle İslâm coğrafyasındaki din karşıtı akımların iddiaları ve kelamcıların bu akımlara karşı geliştirdiği din savunusu incelenmiştir. Erken dönem İslâm dünyasında deistik itirazların zemini olan yaklaşımlar ve bu yaklaşımları savunduğu iddia edilen kişiler ve görüşleri ele alınmış kelamcıların söz konusu kişi ve gruplara reddiyeleri ele alınmıştır. Özellikle nübüvvet kurumuna karşı geliştirilen itirazlara karşı kelamcıların nübüvvetin gerekliliğine dair ileri sürdüğü argümanlara yer verilmiştir. Nübüvvet bahsinin kelamda ele alındığı şekliyle ilişkili olarak İslâm'ın ulûhiyet tanımı ve Allah-insan ilişkisi bağlamında nübüvvetin gerekliliğine dair argümanlar incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde Batı'da deistik yaklaşımların ortaya çıkışı ve deizmin savunucuları hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Aydınlanma sürecinin deizmin gelişimine katkıları ve deistik düşüncenin dünyaya yayılması ve tanınması ile ilgili bilgiler aktarılmıştır. Daha sonra 19. yüzyılda deizmin Müslüman dünyadaki etkisi hakkında inceleme yapılmıştır. Yeni ilmi kelam dönemi kelamcılarının Aydınlanma sürecinde ortaya çıkan yeni akımlara karşı İslâm'ı savunma yöntemleri irdelenmiş, deistik iddialara karşı tutumları ve İslâmî akideyi savunma yöntemleri incelenmiştir. Modern çağın getirdiği seküler bakışın İslâm akidesine etkisi incelenerek deizmin seküler bakış ile ilişkisi sorgulanmıştır. Modern çağ insanının Allah-âlem tasavvuru hakkında araştırmalara yer verilerek deizmin Müslüman dünyada tehdit unsuru olarak değerlendirilmesine dair inceleme yapılmıştır. This study consists of an introduction and three parts. In the first part of the study, information about the terminology, historical background and types of deism are given. Here, the main factors about the formation process of deism and the reasons that paved the way for deistic thought are discussed. Here, first of all, the source of deism in terms of its general theories, the Christian theology that prepared the birth of deism and the effects of scientific developments in the Enlightenment period on deistic approaches were evaluated. The source of deism has been examined in detail and the effect of the Islamic creed with the emergence of deism has been questioned. In the second part, approaches that defend principles similar to the principles of deism in the classical period are included. Here, the claims of anti-religious movements in the Islamic geography and the defense of religion developed by theologians against these movements are examined. The approaches that were the basis of deistic objections in the early Islamic world, the people who allegedly defended these approaches, and their views were discussed, and the refusals of the theologians to the people and groups in question were discussed. In particular, the arguments put forward by theologians about the necessity of prophethood against the objections developed against the institution of prophethood are included. The arguments regarding the necessity of prophecy in the context of Islam's definition of divinity and the relationship between God and man have been examined in relation to the way prophecy is discussed in kalam. In the last part of the study, information about the emergence of deistic approaches in the West and the defenders of deism are given. Information about the contributions of the Enlightenment process to the development of deism and the spread and recognition of deistic thought to the world were given. Then, the effect of deism in the Muslim world in the 19th century was examined. The methods of defending Islam against the new movements that emerged in the Enlightenment period of the theologians of the new scientific theology period were examined, their attitudes against deistic claims and the methods of defending the Islamic creed were examined. The effect of the secular view brought by the modern age on the Islamic creed was examined and the relationship of deism with the secular view was questioned. By giving place to the researches about the concept of God and the world of modern age people, an examination has been made about the evaluation of deism as a threat in the Muslim world.
