Mesleki eğitimin önemi 21. yüzyılda daha çok ön plana çıkmıştır. Çünkü bu yüzyılda bilgiyi elinde tutan ve insan kaynaklarının eğitime yatırım yapan toplumlar iktisadi ve siyasi açıdan küreselleşen dünyada bir otorite olmuşlardır. Kendine yetebilen ve üreten toplumlar güçlü bir toplumsal kalkınmayla bağımsızlık savaşını kazanmışlardır. Bu gücün kaynağı ise istisnasız mesleki eğitimdir. Bu öneme binaen araştırmada; mesleki eğitimin sorunları ve mesleki eğitimin tercih edilebilirliğinin nasıl artacağına dair niteliksel bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında temeli Ahilik geleneğine dayanan Mesleki Eğitim Merkezleri'nin Ahilik Lisesi'ne dönüştürülmesinin uygulanabilirliği ve mesleki eğitime sağlayacağı faydalar katılımcıların görüşleri çerçevesinde açıklanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına ulaşmak için, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanarak Isparta ilindeki Meslek Lisesi idarecileri, meslek dersi öğretmenleri ve okul psikolojik danışmanlarının oluşturduğu 17 katılımcı ile görüşülmüştür. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen verilerden içerik analizi yapılarak araştırmanın kodları ve bu kodların oluşturduğu temalar oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda mesleki eğitime gereken değerin verilmediği, bunun sebebinin ise toplumsal algının nitelikli öğrencilerin bu okulları tercih etmesini etkilediği, MEB ve YÖK'ün oluşturacağı yeni düzenlemelerle bu okulların tercih edilebilirliğinin artacağı vurgulanmıştır. Mesleki Eğitim Merkezleri yerine Ahilik Lisesi modelinin mesleki eğitime yeni bir bakış açısı getirerek nitelik kazandıracağı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. In the research; A qualitative research has been made on the problems of vocational education and how the preferability of vocational education will increase. In the light of the findings, the feasibility of transforming the Vocational Education Centers based on the Ahi-Order tradition into Ahi-Order High Schools and the benefits of vocational education are explained within the framework of the opinions of the participants. In order to reach the research findings, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and 17 volunteer participants consisting of Vocational High School administrators, vocational course teachers and school psychological counselors in the province of Isparta were interviewed. By making content analysis from the data obtained as a result of the interviews, the codes of the research and the themes created by these codes were created. As a result of the research, it was emphasized that the necessary value was not given to vocational education, the reason for this was that the social perception affected the preference of qualified students to these schools, and the preferability of these schools would increase with the new regulations to be created by the Ministry of National Education and YÖK. It has been concluded that the Ahilik High School model will add a new perspective to vocational education instead of Vocational Education Centers.
