Bu araştırma ortaokul öğrencilerinin enerji okuryazarlık düzeylerinin belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden "Tarama Yöntemi" kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılının güz döneminde toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Isparta ili sınırları içerisindeki özel ve devlet ortaokullarında 7. ve 8. sınıfta öğrenim gören 1182 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada DeWaters, Qagish, Graham ve Powers (2013) tarafından geliştirilen ve Güven, Yakar ve Sülün (2019) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan "Enerji Okuryazarlık Ölçeği" ve "Kişisel Bilgiler Formu" kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin duyuşsal alt boyutta kısmen düşük, davranışsal alt boyutta kısmen iyi enerji okuryazarı olduğu saptanmıştır. Devlet ortaokullarında öğrenim gören öğrencilerle özel ortaokullarda öğrenim gören öğrenciler arasında devlet ortaokulları lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Köy ve ilçe merkezinde okula devam eden öğrencilerin enerji okuryazarlık düzeyleri il merkezinde okula devam eden öğrencilere göre daha yüksektir. Davranışsal alt boyutta anneleri ilkokul mezunu olan öğrencilerle, üniversite mezunu olan öğrenciler arasında ilkokul mezunu olanlar lehine anlamlı bir farklılık görülmektedir. Yine davranışsal alt boyutta anneleri ev hanımı olan öğrencilerin esnaf olanlara göre daha yüksek düzeyde anlamlı farklılık olduğu görülmektedir. Baba eğitim durumu ilkokul mezunu olan öğrencilerin yüksek lisans/doktora mezunu olanlara göre daha yüksek düzeyde anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmaktadır. Babaları işçi olan öğrencilerle babaları memur olan öğrenciler arasında anlamlı farklılık işçi olanlar lehinedir. Babaları memur olan öğrencilerle esnaf olan öğrenciler arasında ise memur olanların lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmaktadır. Aile gelir durumu 0-2000tl olan öğrencilerin enerji okuryazarlık düzeyleri gelir durumu 8001tl üzeri olanların enerji okuryazarlık düzeylerine göre anlamlı biçimde daha yüksektir. 2001-4000tl geliri olanların enerji okuryazarlık düzeyleri gelir durumu 8001tl üzeri olanlara göre anlamlı biçimde daha yüksektir. Yaşamının büyük bir kısmını ilçe merkezinde geçiren öğrencilerin enerji okuryazarlık düzeyleri ile il merkezinde geçirenler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmaktadır. Sosyal medya ya da televizyon aracılığıyla enerji ile ilgili bir yayın takip eden öğrencilerin enerji okuryazarlık düzeylerinde takip etmeyen öğrencilerin enerji okuryazarlık düzeylerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmaktadır. This research aims to determine the energy literacy levels of secondary school students. Research data were collected in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The sample of the research consists of 1182 students studying in the 7th and 8th grades in private and state secondary schools in Isparta. "Energy Literacy Scale" and "Personal Information Form" developed by DeWaters, Qagish, Graham and Powers (2013) and adapted into Turkish by Güven, Yakar and Pheasant (2019) were used in the research. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by t test and ANOVA test variables such as class, type of school, location of the school, gender, education level of the parents, monthly income level, occupation of the parents, place of residence, social media, broadcasting energy from the internet and television, whether or not they follow energy magazines and whether they find the energy training sufficient. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the students were partially low in the affective sub-dimension and partially good in the behavioral sub-dimension. A significant difference was found between students studying in public secondary schools and students studying in private secondary schools in favor of public secondary schools. The energy literacy levels of the students who attend school in village and district centers are higher than the students who attend the school in city center. In the behavioral subscale, there is a significant difference between the students whose mothers are primary school graduates and those whose mothers are university graduates, in favor of those whose mothers are primary school graduates. Again, in the behavioral subscale, it is seen that the students whose mothers are housewives are at a higher level than those who are tradesmen. There is a higher significant difference between the students whose father's education level is primary school graduate compared to those who have master's/doctorate degrees. A significant difference between students whose fathers are workers and those whose fathers are civil servants is in favor of workers. There is a significant difference between the students whose fathers are civil servants and those who are tradesmen in favor of those whose fathers are civil servants. The energy literacy levels of the students whose family income is 0-2000tl are higher than the energy literacy levels of the students whose income is above 8001tl. Likewise, the energy literacy levels of those with an income of 2001-4000tl are higher than those with an income of over 8001tl. The energy literacy levels of the students who spend most of their lives in district center are in favor of those who live in the district center compared to those who live in city center. The energy literacy levels of students who follow an energy-related broadcast via social media or television are significantly higher than those who do not.
