Günümüz dünyasında teknoloji; bilim, eğitim, iş dünyası gibi hayatın her alanında o kadar büyük bir hızla gelişiyor ki, tüm bu alanlar yadsınamayacak şekilde etkileniyor. Teknolojik gelişmelerden en çok etkilenen alanlardan biri de hiç şüphesiz dil eğitimidir. Teknolojideki hızlı ilerlemeler, internetin yaygınlaşmasıyla eğitim ortamının doğasını değiştirme ve yabancı dil eğitimindeki yaklaşımları ve metotları büyük ölçüde dönüştürme ihtiyacına yol açmıştır. Dil eğitimi kapsamında tartışmalı bir konu olarak kabul edilen dilbilgisi eğitimi, yabancı dil eğitiminin başlamasından itibaren önemli değişimlere uğramıştır. Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri (BİT) araçlarının ortaya çıkışı, dilin diğer alanlarında olduğu gibi dilbilgisi eğitimi alanını da geliştirmiş ve modernleştirmiştir. VoScreen, dil öğrenenlerin özgün materyallere kolayca ve ücretsiz olarak erişmeleri için geliştirilmiş BİT araçlarından biridir. Bu tezin amacı, VoScreen'in öğrencilerin dilbilgisi başarıları ve VoScreen'e yönelik genel algıları üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Bu çalışmaya Afyonkarahisar ilinde bulunan iki farklı Anadolu Lisesinden 130 9. sınıf ve 102 10. sınıf olmak üzere toplam 232 öğrenci katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada açıklayıcı karma yöntem araştırma deseni yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın nicel aşamasında, yarı deneysel desen uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırma yönteminde veri toplamaya ön test uygulaması ile başlanmıştır. 10 haftalık bir deneysel çalışma ile devam eden çalışma, son test uygulaması ile tamamlanmıştır. Nitel aşamada, 9. ve 10. sınıf öğrencilerinden 6şar katılımcı ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Süreç boyunca toplanan veriler analiz edildiğinde ve öğrencilerin uygulama sonrası okulda yapılan sınav sonuçları ile karşılaştırıldığında, deney grubundaki katılımcıların hem son testten hem de okul sınavlarından daha yüksek puanlar aldıkları görülmüştür. Nitel veri analizinden elde edilen sonuçlara gelince, bir BİT aracı olarak VoScreen'e yönelik genel algılarının olumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun yanısıra, görüşme yapılan katılımcılar uygulamanın bazı özellikleri ile ilgili yapıcı geri bildirimlerle katkı sunmuşlardır. Özetle, VoScreen'in dilbilgisi eğitiminde kullanılmasının, öğrencilerin özgüven kazanması ve başarıyı artırması açısından teşvik edici olabileceği söylenebilir. In today's world, technology has been upswinging at such a great pace in every field of life such as science, education, business world that all these aspects have been undeniably affected. One of the most affected fields by the technological improvements is undoubtedly language education. The upsurging advancements of technology have given rise to an urge to drastically change the nature of the setting and transform the approaches and methods in foreign language education through the advent of Internet. Considered as a controversial issue within the scope of foreign language education, grammar teaching/learning has undergone remarkable changes since foreign language education started. The emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) tools has upgraded and modernized the field of grammar education as well as the other areas of language. VoScreen is one of these tools, developed for language learners to access authentic materials easily and free of charge. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the impact of VoScreen on the students' achievement in grammar and their general perceptions towards the tool. This study has involved 232 participants in total, 130 of whom are 9th graders and 102 of whom are 10th graders from two different Anatolian High Schools in Afyonkarahisar. In this study, explanatory sequential mixed method research design has been adopted. In the quantitative phase of the research, quasi-experimental design has been implemented which incorporates 10-week treatment, initiated by a pre-test and completed by a post-test. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews have been conducted with 6 participants from 9th and 10th graders each. When the data gathered through the process has been analysed and compared to the students' school exam scores applied after the implementation, the results have indicated that the participants in the experimental group have achieved higher scores from both the post-test and school exam. As for the results obtained from the qualitative data analysis, it has been noticed that the general perceptions towards VoScreen as an ICT tool is favorable with some constructive feedback to upgrade some features of the application. In sum, it can be concluded that the use of VoScreen for grammar learning might be encouraging for the students to gain self-confidence and accelerate their achievement.
