Teknolojinin gelişmesi ile beraber pek çok alanda değişimler meydana gelmiş ve hayatımıza birçok yeni kavram kazandırmıştır. Literatüre giren yeni kavramlar zamanla birçok araştırmanın da konusu olmuştur. Bu yeni kavramlardan biri de siber kaytarma kavramıdır. Siber kaytarma kavramı, çalışanların iş saatleri esnasında kişisel amaçlarla teknolojik araçları kullanmasını ifade etmektedir. Siber kaytarmanın çalışanların performansı üzerinde olumlu ve olumsuz pek çok etkisi bulunmaktadır. Siber kaytarma ve performans arasındaki bu ilişkiler birçok uluslararası ve ulusal çalışmanın konusu olmuştur. Literatür incelendiğinde siber kaytarma kavramı genellikle olumsuz bir durumu ifade etmektedir. Ancak siber kaytarma kavramı ile performans ilişkisi incelendiğinde olumlu etkilerden söz etmek mümkündür. Siber kaytarmanın çalışanlar üzerinde tükenmişlik sendromundan kurtarma, iş stresinden kaçma ve kişisel gelişimini artırma gibi olumlu yönde etkileri bulunmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada siber kaytarmanın çalışanların performansı üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. İlk olarak performans kavramı ve performansı oluşturan hususlar ele alınmıştır. Türkiye'de ve dünyada performans ile ilgili literatür incelenmiş ve performans ve siber kaytarma ilişkisi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. İkinci olarak siber kaytarma kavramı ele alınmıştır. Siber kaytarma kavramı içerisinde yer alan davranışlar, davranış nedenleri ve sınıflandırılması gibi konular açıklanmıştır. Üçüncü olarak siber kaytarmanın çalışanların performansı üzerindeki etkisi Isparta Tarım İl Müdürlüğü ve Isparta Orman İl Müdürlüğü kurumlarındaki çalışanlar özelinde araştırılmıştır. Bu araştırma neticesinde, siber kaytarmanın performansı %2 oranında olumlu etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler : Siber Kaytarma, Performans, Dijital Gelişmeler.
In parallel with technological advancement, numbers of aspects of life have evolved and introduced great deal of novel concepts. Accordingly, studies were not able to ignore these novel concepts over the time. Of these concepts, cyberloafing refers employees' usage of technological devices for their personal objectives during their shift hours. Cyberloafing has both various positive and negative impact on employees' job performance. The correlation between cyberloafing and employee performance has been focal point of numbers of domestic and international studies. In consideration of current literature, cyberloafing concept is usually perceived as a negative concept. Nevertheless, when the correlation between cyberloafing concept and employee performance is considered, its positive impacts could be noted such as relieving employees from their burnout syndrome, avoiding job stress, and ensuring personal development. In this line, our study investigates the effects of cyberloafing on employee performance. At first, the concept of performance and constituents of performance were taken into consideration. Domestic and international literature on performance was reviewed; and the correlation between performance and cyberloafing was tried to be elucidated. Secondly, cyberloafing concept was taken into consideration along with the efforts to explain behaviors within the scope of cyberloafing, rationales of these behaviors, and their classification. Thirdly, the effect of cyberloafing on employee performance was investigated through a study on personnel of the Isparta Provincial Agriculture Directorate and Isparta Provincial Forestry Directorate, both public organizations. Our findings revealed that cyberloafing has positive effect on employee performance by 2%. Keywords : Cyberloafing, Performance, Dijital Advancements.
