Amaç: Çalışmamızda; Major Depresif Bozukluk tanılı hastalarda intihar düşüncesiyle Oksitosin ve Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.Materyal ve metod: DSM-IV-TR ölçütlerine göre Major Depresif Bozukluk tanısı alan 63 olgu geçmişte intihar düşüncesi olan 32 ve olmayan 31 olgu olarak gruplandırıldı. Hasta grubuyla uyumlu 32 sağlıklı gönüllü kontrol grubu olarak alındı. Hastalara sosyodemografik ve klinik veri formu, DSM-IV Eksen I Bozuklukları İçin Yapılandırılmış Klinik Görüşme, Klinik Versiyonu (SCID-I), Hamilton Depresyon Derecelendirme Ölçeği, Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği, İntihar Olasılığı Ölçeği, İntihar Düşüncesi Ölçeği uygulandı. Oksitosin ve Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri serumda ölçüldü. Sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak p<0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Araştırmamızda, intihar düşüncesi olan hasta grubunun Oksitosin düzeyleri, kontrol grubundan istatiksel açıdan anlamlı derecede düşük saptandı(p<0.001). İntihar düşüncesi olmayan hasta grubunun Oksitosin düzeyleri, kontrol grubundan istatiksel açıdan anlamlı derecede düşük bulundu (p< 0.001). İntihar düşüncesi olan hasta grubunun serum Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri, kontrol grubundan istatiksel açıdan anlamlı derecede düşük saptandı(p<0.001). İntihar düşüncesi olmayan hasta grubunun Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri, kontrol grubundan istatiksel açıdan anlamlı derecede düşük bulundu(p=0.043). Korelasyon analizlerinde depresyon olgularında Oksitosin ve Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulundu(r=0.308, p=0.014).Tartışma ve Sonuç: Düşük Nesfatin-1 düzeylerinin, stres ile artan yüksek kortizol düzeylerinin negatif feedback inhibisyon etkisine bağlı gerçekleşmiş olabileceğini düşünülmektedir. Çalışmamızdaki bulgular da bu görüşü destekler niteliktedir. İntihar düşüncesi olan depresyon grubunda en düşük olmak üzere depresyon gruplarında sağlıklı gönüllü gruba göre Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri anlamlı derecede düşük saptanmıştır. Ayrıca depresyon hastalarında Oksitosin ve Nesfatin-1 düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ilişki olduğunu ilk defa çalışmamız ile gösterilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, depresyon, intihar, Oksitosin ve Nesfatin-1 dörtlüsü arasındaki olası ilişkinin ayrıntılı incelenmesi ile ilgili yapılacak tüm çalışmalar; depresyon ve depresyon ile ilişkili intihar riskinin erken tanınıp tedavi edilmesine pozitif katkılar sağlayacaktır. Aim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the serum levels of Oxytocin and Nesfatin-1and to examine the relationship of these hormones with suicidal ideation in patients with Major Depressive Disorder. Materials and methods: 63 cases diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder according to DSM-IV-TR criteria were taken and divided into two groups, 32 cases with and 31 cases without suicide ideation. 32 healthy volunteers were taken as control group. Sociodemographic and clinical data form, Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders, Clinical Version (SCID-I), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, Beck Hopelessness Scale, Suicide Probability Scale, Scale of Suicidal Ideation were administered to the patients. Oxytocin and Nesfatin-1 serum levels were measured.Results are evaluated statistically in p<0.05 significance level.Results: The study revealed that Oxytocin levels were statistically significantly lower in the group that had suicidal ideation than the control group(p<0.001). Oxytocin levels were statistically significantly lower in the group that didn't have suicidal ideation than the control group(p<0.001). Nesfatin-1 levels were statistically significantly lower in the group that had suicidal ideation than the control group(p<0.001). Nesfatin-1 levels were statistically significantly lower in the group that didn't have suicidal ideation than than the control group(p=0.043). In correlation analysis positively significant relationship was detected between Oxytocin and Nesfatin-1 levels(r=0.308, p=0.014).Discussion and Conclusions: Low Nesfatin-1 levels may be the consequence of due to the negative feedback mechanism of the elevated cortisol level to the increased stress. The results of this study also supports this opinion. Including who had suicidal ideation group in the lowest, Nesfatin-1 serum levels of the depression groups were found significantly low compared to the volunteer group. Additionally this the first study a statistically significantly relation between Oxytocin and Nesfatin-1 levels the presence of major depression in patients. As a result, all studies will be performed regarding the evaluation of detailed examination of relationship between depression, suicide, Oxytocin, Nesfatin-1 tetrad will make positive contributions to the suicide risk for early diagnosis and treatment.
