Bu çalışmanın amacı Isparta ili Uluborlu ilçe merkezinde yaşayan 15-49 yaş kadınlarda Premenstrüel Sendrom (PMS) prevalansını, ilişkili faktörleri ve yaşam kalitesine etkisini saptamaktır. Analitik kesitsel tipteki bu çalışma Temmuz 2014-Kasım 2015 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirildi. Araştırma evrenini 2014 yılında Uluborlu ilçe merkezinde yaşayan 15-49 yaş arası 1490 kadın oluşturmuştur. Örnek büyüklüğü StatCalc hesaplama programıyla; %40'lık PMS sıklığı, %3'lük sapma ile alfa değeri 0,05 ve beta değeri 0,20 alınarak, 338 hesaplandı. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkenleri PMS varlığı ve yaşam kalitesi, bağımsız değişkenleri sosyodemografik ve üreme sağlığı ile ilgili özelliklerdi. PMS için Gençdoğan tarafından geliştirilen premenstrüel sendrom ölçeği (PMSÖ), yaşam kalitesi için DSÖ Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Kısa Formu Türkçe versiyonu (WHOQOL-BREF-TR) kullanıldı. Yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle toplanan veri SPSS 15.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences,) programı ile analiz edildi. Veri analizinde yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, minimum ve maksimum (min-maks) değerler, ki-kare testi, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), Tukey, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis, Spearman ve Pearson korelasyon testleri, lojistik ve lineer regresyon analizleri kullanıldı. İstatistiksel anlamlılık için sınır değer p<0,05 kabul edildi. Bu çalışmada PMS prevalansı %47,3 bulunmuştur. PMS görülme düzeyi; sağlık algısı kötü olanlarda, kronik hastalığı olanlarda, kola ve kahve tüketimi fazla olanlarda, adet başlamadan önce kendini kötü hissedenlerde, annesinde PMS tanısı ya da semptomları olan kadınlarda daha yüksek, düzenli egzersiz yapanlarda ise daha düşük bulunmuştur. PMS ile yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişki değerlendirildiğinde PMS'si olan kadınların WHOQOL BREF TR alt alanlarından fiziksel, psikolojik, sosyal ve çevre alanı puan ortalamalarının daha düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir (sırasıyla p<0,001, p<0,001, p<0,001, p=0,002). Isparta Uluborlu'da yaşayan 15-49 yaş kadınlarda PMS prevalansı yüksektir ve yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkilemektedir. PMS'nin negatif etkilerini azaltmak, yaşam kalitesini artırmak için sağlık eğitimleri verilmesi ve PMS farkındalığının artırılması önerilmektedir.
The aim of this study is to investigate the frequency of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) in 15-49 aged women living in Isparta Uluborlu, the factors related PMS and the impact of PMS on quality of life. The cross-sectional and analytic study was conducted July 2014 - November 2015. The population of this study conducted on 1490 15-49 aged women who are living in Isparta Uluborlu in the year of 2014. 338 women were determined by using StatCalc with a PMS frequency of 40%, 3% deviation and an alpha value of 0.05 and beta value of 0.20. The dependent variables of the study was the presence of PMS and quality of life, the independent variables were socio-demographic and reproductive health characteristics. The data were compiled using a Premenstrual Syndrom Scale Questionaire devoloped by Gencdogan and the Turkish version of "World Health Organization's Quality of Life Questionnaire" (WHOQOL-BREF-TR). Data collected by face to face interview and analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). In the analysis of the data; percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum (min-max) values, Chi-square test, independent samples t tests, One Way Anova test (ANOVA), Tukey, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman and Pearson correlation tests, logistic and linear regression analyzes were used. p<0.05 was accepted as statistically significant in all analyses. PMS was detected in 47.3% of the women in this study. PMS was found significantly high in those women who have poor health perceptions, having a chronic illness, more of coke and coffee consumption, feeling bad before the start of menstruation, whose mother was diagnosed or had symptoms of PMS, and PMS was found significantly low in women who exercise regularly. When the relation of PMS with life quality was evaluated, it was determined that the women with PMS had a lower avarege score of physical, psychological, social and environmental domains of WHOQOL BREF TR (respectively p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.001, p=0.002). Prevalance of PMS is high in 15-49 aged women in Isparta Uluborlu and ıt's adversely affect the quality of life. In order to decrease the negative effects of PMS and to improve the life quality it is recommended that health education should be given to create awareness about PMS.
