Çalışmamız, yaşları 22-40 gebelik haftası arasında değişen, harici anomalisi ve patolojisi olmayan, % 10' luk formaldehit solusyonunda muhafaza edilmiş, dişi ve erkek ayrı olmak üzere intrauterin gebelik yaşı II. trimester'dan (22-25 hafta) 15 fetus, III. trimester'dan (26-37 hafta) 30 fetus ve IV. trimester'dan (38-40 hafta) 12 fetus olmak üzere toplam 57 fetus üzerinde yapılmıştır. Foramen jugulare'nin morfometrisi ve bulunduğu yerin tam tespitinin yapılabilmesi için, ilişkili çevre yapılardan alınan ölçüler istatistiki yönden değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma konumuzu oluşturan fetuslarda yapılan ölçümler neticesinde, sağ foramen jugulare'nin anteroposterior çapı'nın tüm yaş guruplarında sol foramen jugulare'nin anteroposterior çapından daha büyük olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun yanısıra, sağ foramen jugulare'nin mediolateral çapı ile sol foramen jugulare'nin mediolateral çapı arasında tüm yaş gruplarında belirgin bir fark görülmemiştir. Fetusların cinsiyetleri göz önüne alınarak yapılan ölçümler neticesinde ise, erkek ve dişi fetuslarda foramen jugulare'nin anteroposterior çapı ve mediolateral çapı bütün fetal yaş gruplarında ölçülmüş ancak sağ ve sol taraf arasında anlamlı bir fark gözlenmemiştir. Foramen jugulare aralarında belirgin bir septum olmayan iki bölümden oluşmuştur. Anterior'da yer alan bölüm daha küçük ve dar, posterior'da bulunan bölüm ise daha büyüktür. Foramen jugulare'nin kemik köprülerle bölünmesi (septasyon) çalışmamızda çok nadir olarak gördüğümüz bir olguydu. İncelenen fetuslardan 2. trimester'a ait 1 dişi fetus'un sol tarafında, 3.trimester'a ait iki ayrı erkek fetustan birinde unilateral olarak sadece sağ tarafta, diğerinde ise hem sağ hem de sol tarafta iki bölüme ayrılma şeklinde görülmüştür. Our study was performed on total 57 fetuses the ages of whom were 22-40 weeks of gestation, with no external anomaly and pathology, preserved in 10% formaldehyde solution, male and female separately, 15 fetuses from intrauterine gestational age 2nd trimester (22-25 weeks), 30 fetuses from 3rd trimester (26-37 weeks), and 12 fetuses from 4th trimester (38-40 weeks). The measurements taken from the related surrounding structures were evaluated statistically in order to determine the morphometry of the jugular foramen and its exact location. As a result of the measurements made in the fetuses included in our study, it was seen that the anteroposterior diameter of the right jugular foramen was larger than the anterioposterior diameter of the left jugular foramen in all age groups. In addition, there was no significant difference between the mediolateral diameter of the right jugular foramen and the mediolateral diameter of the left jugular foramen in all age groups. As a result of the measurements made considering the gender of the fetuses, the anteroposterior diameter and mediolateral diameter of the jugular foramen in male and female fetuses were measured in all fetal age groups, but no significant difference was observed between the right and left sides. The jugular foramen consists of two parts with no distinct septum between them. The anterior part is smaller and narrower, the posterior part is larger. The division of the jugular foramen by bony bridges (septation) was a rare event in our study. Of the fetuses examined, it was seen as divided into two parts on left side of one female fetus belonging to the second-trimester, unilaterally only on the right side in one of the two separate male fetuses belonging to third-trimester, and on both the right and left sides in the other one.
