Günümüzde, ulaşım ve ulaştırma alanındaki hızlı büyüme ve gelişmeyle birlikte ulusal ve uluslararası ticaret piyasasındaki lojistik ve taşımacılığa duyulan ihtiyaçta büyük bir hızla artmaktadır. Dünyada ticaretin globalleşmesi ile birlikte ticaret hacminde de artışlar meydana gelmektedir. Karayolu, denizyolu, demiryolu ve havayoluna verilen değer artmakta ve önem kazanmaktadır. Artan ticaret hacmi ise kuruluşlardaki rekabeti ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Bu rekabet koşulları içerisinde her kuruluş ürününün en düşük maliyet ile ulaştırılmasını hedefler. Mevcut taşıma kapasitesinin yüksek kullanımı, önemli bir maliyet tasarrufu sağlamaktadır. Maliyeti azaltmanın yollarından bir tanesi de konteyner hacmini etkin bir şekilde kullanmaktan geçer. Bu nedenle bu sektörlerde etkin paketleme yöntemlerinin önemi hızla artmaktadır. Konteyner yükleme problemleri, ulaştırma alanında ulaşımın daha güvenilir ve daha hızlı sağlanması açısından önemli olan problemlerden bir tanesidir. Konteyner yükleme problemleri, büyük bir konteynerin içerisine daha küçük kutular veya blokların doldurulması gereken bir kesme ve paketleme problemlerinden bir tanesidir. Kutu çeşitliliği veya kutu sayısı arttıkça yerleşim çeşitliliğinde de artış görülmektedir. Bu tarz problemler, çözülmesi üstel zaman gerektirdiğinden dolayı NP-Zor problemler olarak tanımlanır. Bu nedenle sezgisel ve meta-sezgisel yöntemler bu prolemlerin çözümünde ilk akla gelen yöntemlerden bir tanesidir. Bu tez çalışmasında konteyner yükleme probleminin çözümü için duvar inşa yöntemi kullanılarak maksimum-minimum karınca algoritması ve blok inşa yöntemi kullanılarak bir hibrit GRASP-Guguk kuşu arama algoritması önerilmiştir. Guguk kuşu arama algoritması kombinatoryal optimizasyon problemleri için uygun değildir, sürekli optimizasyon problemlerinin çözümünde kullanılır. Bu algoritmanın konteyner yükleme problemi gibi kombinatoryal optimizasyon probleminde kullanılabilmesi için GRASP metotun yapım ve yerel arama aşaması kullanılarak her iki metotun hibrit bir varyantı geliştirilmiştir. Konteyner yükleme problemi için gerekli zorunlu kısıtlara ek olarak rotasyon kısıtı da problem çözümüne dahil edilmiştir. Önerilen iki algoritma literatürde sıklıkla kullanılan BR veri setleri ile test edilmiştir. Maksimum-minimum karınca algoritmasının literatürdeki algoritmalara oranla daha düşük sonuçlar aldığı gözlemlenmiştir. Ancak geliştirilen hibrit GRASP-Guguk kuşu arama algoritmasının sonuçları literatürde kullanılan diğer sezgisel yöntemlerle karşılaştırılmış ve olumlu sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Today, with the rapid growth and development in the field of transportation, the need for logistics and transportation in the domestic and international trade market is increasing rapidly. With the globalization of trade in the world, there is an increase in the trade volume. The value given to highway, seaway, railway and airway is increasing and gaining importance. Increasing trade volume, on the other hand, brings competition in organizations to the fore. Within these competitive conditions, every organization aims to deliver its product at the lowest cost. High utilization of available carrying capacity provides significant cost savings. One of the ways to reduce costs is using container volume effectively. For this reason, the impotance of effective packaging methods in these sectors is incresing rapidly. Container loading problems are one of the important problems in terms of providing more reliable and faster transportation in the field of transportation. Container loading problems are one of the cutting and packaging problems in which smaller boxes or blocks should be filled into a bigger container. As the variety of boxes or number of boxes increases, the variety of placements also increases. These problems are defined as NP-Hard problems that require exponential time to solve. For this reason, heuristic and meta-heuristic methods are one of the first methods that come to mind in solving these problems. In this thesis, a maximum-minimum ant algorithm with the wall-building method and a hybrid GRASP-Cuckoo search algoritm with the block building method are proposed to solve the container loading problem. The cuckoo search algorithm is not suitable for combinatorial optimization problems, it is used to solve continuous optimization problems. In order to use this algorithm in combinatorial optimization problem such as container loading problem, a hybrid variant of both methods was developed by using the construction and local search stages of the GRASP method. In addition to the mandatory constraints for the container loaidng problem, the rotation constraint is also included in the problem solution. The two proposed algoritms have been tested with BR datasets, which are frequently used in the literature. It has been observed that the maximum-minimum ant algorithm has lower results than the algorithms in the literatüre. However, the results of the developed hybrid GRASP-Cuckoo search algorithm were compared with other heuristic methods used in the literatüre and positive results were obtained.
