Bu tez çalışması kapsamında kullanılan lavanta bitkisi (Lavandula intermedia Emeric. Ex. Loisel) tıbbi ve aromatik bitkiler arasında yer almaktadır. Bitkinin Türkiye'de ekim alanları oldukça yaygınlaşmıştır. Özellikle projenin yürütüldüğü Isparta bölgesinde lavantanın tarımı da çok geniş bir alana yayılmış durumdadır. TÜIK 2022 verilerine göre lavantanın üretimi 7.722 tona ulaşmıştır. TÜİK 2022 verilerine göre Türkiye genelinde lavanta tarımı 52 ilde yaygınlaşmış durumdadır. Isparta bölgesinde lavanta tarımı toplam üretimin %21,68'lik kapasitesine sahiptir ki bu üretim kapasitesinin de çoğunluğu temsil ettiği görülmektedir. Bu üretim kapasitesine bakıldığında ve damıtma sonrası atıkların da tehlikeli atıklar olmamalarına rağmen yeryüzü depolama limitlerinin dolduğu göz önüne alındığında lavanta atığının depolanması Isparta'da uçucu yağ üretimi yapa firmalar için sorunlar oluşturmaya başlamıştır. Bu bağlamda tıbbi aromatik bitkilerin uçucu yağlarını elde eden firmalarda yapılan araştırma sonuçlarına göre lavanta bitkisinin damıtma sonrası atıklarının değerlendirilmediği görülmüştür. Literatür incelendiğinde lavanta bitkisinin damıtma sonrasında elde edilen atıklarının bu zamana kadar aktif karbon üretiminde öncül madde olarak kullanılmadığına rastlanmıştır. Türkiye'deki lavanta bitkisinin üretimi ve tıbbi aromatik yağ üretim kapasitesi Isparta bölgesinde bu kadar fazlayken atıklarının değerlendirilmemesi de depolama açısında ciddi bir atık problemi oluşturmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada atıkların geri dönüştürülmesi ve tedarik zincirine yeniden kazandırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla elde edilen aktif karbon katkılı yüzde yüz doğal diş macunu tasarımı ve yine elde edilen ekstraktif maddeler ve aktif karbon katkılı sabun üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Diş macunu üretiminde sentetik deterjanlar yerine saponin içeren ve bölgede tarımı yaygın şekilde yapılan hünnap ağacı (Zizyphus jujuba Mill.) yaprağı ekstresi kullanılmıştır. Tasarlanan farklı diş macunu formüllerine duyusal analiz testleri uygulanarak formülize edilmiş 3 adet diş macununun arasından en iyi ve kullanılabilir diş macunu seçilmiştir. Lavantadan elde edilen ekstraktlar sabun içerisine katkı maddesi olarak eklenmiştir. Üretilen ürünler için GC-MS analizleri, ICP-OES analizleri, mezofilik bakteri analizleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda diş macununda ve katı sabunda herhangi bir bakteri üremediği tespit edilmiştir. Katı sabun için laboratuvar ortamında sabun fizikokimyasal testlere tabi tutulmuştur. Bu testler; köpürme gücü testi, ürünün pH testi, toplam yağ miktarı, toplam serbest alkali miktarı, nem içeriği gibi testlerdir. Bu testlerin sonucunda ürünlerin gerekli standartları karşıladığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Elde edilmiş olan ürünlere aynı zamanda MTT testi de yaptırılmıştır ve ürünlerin sitotoksik olmadığı, hücre canlılığının korunduğu da çalışmanın sonuçları arasında yer almaktadır. Elde edilen ürünler kozmetik sektöründe kullanılan bir hammaddenin atığı olduğundan dolayı bu tez çalışmasında yapılmış olan aktif karbon katkılı katı sabunun ve diş macununun da yine doğal hammaddeler kullanılarak kozmetik sektörüne geri kazandırılması sağlanmıştır. Çalışmanın uçucu yağ sektöründeki atıkların değerlendirilmesi için yeni bir yaklaşım ortaya koyduğu da söylenebilir. The lavandin plant (Lavandula intermedia Emeric. Ex. Loisel) used in this thesis is among the medicinal and aromatic plants. The planting areas of the plant have become quite widespread in Turkey. Especially in the Isparta region where the project is carried out, the cultivation of lavandin has spread over a very wide area. According to TUIK 2022 data, the production of lavandin has reached 7,722 tons. According to TUIK 2022 data, lavandin cultivation has become widespread in 52 provinces throughout Türkiye. Lavandin agriculture in the Isparta region has a capacity of 21.68% of the total production, which seems to represent the majority of this production capacity. Considering this production capacity and considering that although the post-distillation wastes are not hazardous wastes, the storage of lavender waste has started to create problems for companies that produce essential oil in Isparta, considering that the landfill limits are full. In this context, according to the results of the research conducted in companies that obtain the essential oils of medicinal aromatic plants, it has been observed that the wastes of the lavender plant after distillation are not evaluated. When the literature is examined, it has been found that the wastes of the lavender plant obtained after distillation have not been used as a precursor in the production of activated carbon until now. While the production of the lavandin plant and the production capacity of medicinal aromatic oil in Turkey is so high in the Isparta region, the waste is not utilized, which creates a serious waste problem in terms of storage. For this reason, in this study, it is aimed to recycle wastes and reintroduce them to the supply chain. For this purpose, one hundred percent natural toothpaste with activated carbon was designed and the extractive substances and soap with activated carbon were produced. In the production of toothpaste, the leaf extract of the jujube tree (Zizyphus jujuba Mill.), which contains saponin and is widely cultivated in the region, was used instead of synthetic detergents. The best and usable toothpaste was selected among the 3 toothpastes formulated by applying sensory analysis tests to the different toothpaste formulas designed. Extracts from lavandin were added to the soap as an additive. GC-MS analyzes, ICP-OES analyzes, mesophilic bacteria analyzes were performed for the products produced. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that no bacteria in the toothpaste and solid soap. Soap was subjected to physicochemical tests at laboratory. These tests are; foaming test, pH, total fatty matter, total alkali content, moisture content. As a result of these tests, it was concluded that the products fulfill the required standards. MTT test was also performed on the products obtained and it is among the results of the study that the products are not cytotoxic and the cell viability is preserved. Since the products obtained are the waste of a raw material used in the cosmetic sector, the active carbon-added solid soap and toothpaste made in this thesis study were also provided to be recycled to the cosmetic sector by using natural raw materials. It can also be said that the study presents a new approach for the evaluation of wastes in the essential oil sector.
