Ülke ekonomilerini negatif yönde etkileyen ve birçok olumsuz sonuçlar doğuran finansal krizler, firmaların kaynaklarını daha etkin şekilde kullanmalarını ve bulundukları sektör içerisindeki performanslarını arttırmalarını zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada, hisseleri Borsa İstanbul'da işlem gören 30 farklı sektörden 141 firmanın 2005Ç1-2021Ç4 arasındaki çeyreklik dönem verilerinden faydalanılarak söz konusu firmaların finansal performanslarının 2008 küresel finansal krizinden etkilenip etkilenmedikleri test edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Söz konusu firmaların finansal performanslarına ait skorlar TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) analizi kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Daha sonra eğim katsayılarının heterojen olmasına imkân tanıması ve yatay kesit bağımlılığına karşı güçlendirilmiş olması açısından son derece önemli özelliklere sahip olanGenişletilmiş Ortalama Grup (Augmented Mean Group-AMG) tahmincisi kullanılarak 2008 küresel finansal krizinin etkileri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan Genişletilmiş Ortalama Grup (Augmented Mean Group-AMG) tahmincisinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre; değişkenlere ait katsayılar incelendiğinde satışlardaki artışın firmaların performanslarını pozitif ve istatistikî açıdan anlamlı olarak etkilediği görülürken, 2008 küresel finansal krizinin firmaların performanslarını negatif ve istatistikî açıdan anlamlı olarak etkilediği görülmüştür. Araştırma bulgularına göre, firmaların yatırımlarda yüksek miktarda borç kullanmaktan kaçınmaları, iç kaynaklarına yönelmeleri ve iç kaynaklarını arttıracak politikalar izlemeleri son olarak da ihtiyatlı çalışma sermayesi finansman politikaları izlemeleri finansal krizlerin firmaların finansal performanslarını negatif etkileme riskini önemli ölçüde azalttığı söylenebilir. Financial crises, which have a negative impact on the country's economies and have many negative consequences, have made it necessary for companies to use their resources more effectively and to increase their performance in the sector they are in. In this study, it was tried to test whether the financial performances of these companies were affected by the 2008 global financial crisis by using the quarterly data between 2005Q1-2021Q4 of 141 companies from 30 different sectors whose shares are traded in Borsa Istanbul. The scores of the financial performances of the companies in question were obtained by using TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) analysis. Then, the effects of the 2008 global financial crisis were tried to be determined by using the Augmented Mean Group (AMG) estimator, which has very important features in terms of allowing the slope coefficients to be heterogeneous and being strengthened against cross-section dependence. According to the results obtained from the Augmented Mean Group (AMG) estimator; When the coefficients of the variables are examined, it is seen that the increase in sales has a positive and statistically significant effect on the performances of the firms, while the 2008 global financial crisis has a negative and statistically significant effect on the performances of the firms. According to the research findings, it can be said that companies avoid using large amounts of debt in investments, turn to their internal resources and follow policies to increase their internal resources, and finally, follow prudent working capital financing policies, and it can be said that financial crises significantly reduce the risk of negatively affecting the financial performance of companies.
