Sanat ve tasarım arasındaki etkileşim, sanatçı ve tasarımcılara kavramsal yönleriyle yeni açılımlar sağlamakla birlikte, teknik özellikler ve malzeme olanaklarındaki çeşitliliğin de artmasıyla özgün yorumların gelişmesinde rol oynamaktadır. Sanat ve tasarım etkileşimine örnek olarak tekstil ve moda tasarımında yararlanılan dokuma, örme ve keçe gibi çeşitli üretim alanlarında ve yaratıcı süreçlerde, tasarımcıların orijinal fikirler üretmek için mimari tasarım, resim, grafik, heykel veya diğer sanatsal üretimlerden esinlenerek özgün tasarımlar ortaya koyduğu bilinmektedir. Yaratıcı çalışmaların sanatsal sorgulama ile giysiye aktarılmasına dayanan bu araştırma kapsamında "benlik" kavramı üzerinden sanat temelli üretimler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yükseköğretim Kurumu (YÖK) tarafından desteklenen bu araştırmaya yurt içi çalışmalarla birlikte Kanada'da bulunan University of British Columbia adlı üniversitede yapılan çalışmalar katkı sağlamıştır. Sanatsal ifade biçimlerinden biri olan resim sanatının keçe sanatı ile yorumlanarak giysi tasarımına dönüştürme olasılıkları araştırma konusu bağlamında a/r/tografik yaklaşıma dayalı olarak öznel deneyimler ve kişisel sorgulamalar ile ele alınmıştır. A/r/tografinin yöntemi ve amacına uygun bir biçimde sanatçı (artist), araştırmacı (researcher) ve öğreten/öğrenen (teacher) kimlikleriyle yürütülen bu çalışmada özgün tekstil yüzeyleri ile giyilebilir keçe tasarımları yapılmıştır. Birbirinden beslenerek araştırmanın derinliğine katkı sağlayan bu üç kimliğin birlikte oluşturduğu yapı, araştırmanın katılımcısı ve araştırmacısı kimliklerini de bir arada barındıran bütüncül bir yaklaşım sunmaktadır. Sanatçı kimliği ile sanatsal üretime dayalı tasarlama süreci, araştırmacı kimliği ile ilişkiselliğe ve sorgulamaya dayalı araştırma süreci, eğitimci kimliği ile farkındalık geliştirme ve öğretme/öğrenmeye dayalı öğretici bir süreç deneyimlenebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Sanat temelli bir bakış açısı sunan a/r/tografi ile yapılandırılan bu araştırmadaki giyilebilir keçe tasarımlarının oluşturulmasında süreç ve deneyim odaklı bir yöntem izlenmiştir. The interaction between art and design not only provides artists and designers with new openings in conceptual aspects, but also plays a role in the development of original interpretations by increasing the diversity in technical features and material possibilities. As an example of the interaction between art and design, it is known that in various production areas and creative processes such as weaving, knitting and felting used in textile and fashion design, designers create original designs inspired by architectural design, painting, graphics, sculpture or other artistic productions to produce original ideas. Within the scope of this research, which is based on the transfer of creative works to clothing through artistic inquiry, art-based productions were realized through the concept of "self". This research, supported by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), contributed to the studies conducted at The University of British Columbia in Canada as well as domestic studies. The possibilities of interpreting the art of painting, which is one of the forms of artistic expression, with felt art and transforming it into garment design have been discussed with subjective experiences and personal inquiries based on a/r/tographic approach in the context of the research subject. In this study, which was carried out with the identities of artist, researcher and teacher/learner in accordance with the method and purpose of a/r/tography, wearable felt designs were made with original textile surfaces. The structure formed by these three identities, which contribute to the depth of the research by feeding each other, offers a holistic approach that also includes the identities of the participant and researcher of the research. It was concluded that a design process based on artistic production can be experienced with the identity of an artist, a research process based on relationality and questioning with the identity of a researcher, and an instructive process based on awareness raising and teaching/learning with the identity of an educator. A process and experience-oriented method was followed in the creation of wearable felt designs in this research structured with a/r/tography, which offers an art-based perspective.
