İnsanoğlunun ilk çağlarda vahşi hayvanlardan korunmak ve barınmak için başlattığı ev arayışı zamanla bir ihtiyaç olmanın ötesine geçmiştir. Başlarda sadece bir gereksinim olan ev, yapı ve anlam bakımından başka bir boyut kazanır. Mahrem olan ev, insanın kendini ait hissettiği, kendiyle beraber anılarını da yaşattığı bir yer olmuştur. Evler artık sadece içeriyi dışarıya karşı koruyan duvarlar değil, bireyin kendi iç dünyasını yansıttığı ve kendi olabildiği özel alanlardır. Henrik Ibsen'in Bir Bebek Evi: Nora, Hedda Gabler, Hayaletler, Yapı Ustası Solness ve Yaban Ördeği oyunlarında, evin birey üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesini amaçlayan bu çalışmanın girişinde, barınaktan başlayarak evin nasıl ortaya çıktığı ve ilk kentlerin nasıl oluştuğu incelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde, Antik çağlardan 19. yy'a kadar olan süreçte evin tarihsel gelişimi anlatılmış, ikinci bölümde evin kent ile olan ilişkisinden başlayarak, eve karşı duyulan aidiyet ve mahremiyetten söz edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise, Ibsen'in belirlenen oyunlarında ev içi mekânının oyun kişisine olan etkilerine bakılarak mekânsal bir çözümleme yapılmıştır. Sonuçta, Ibsen'in burjuva aile hayatını yansıttığı ve gerçekçi bir şekilde sunduğu sahne mekânının, oyun kişisi kadar ayrıntılı bir şekilde anlatıldığı ve mekânın oyun kişilerinin ruh haliyle doğru orantılı olduğu saptanmıştır. People's search in the early era for the housing has started in order to be protected from the wild animals and to be sheltered goes beyond being a need through time.When it was just a necessity in the beginning, the house gained another dimension in terms of structure and meaning. The intimate house becomes a place where ones belong themselves and keep their memories alive. Houses are no longer just walls protecting the interior from the outside, but private spaces in which the individuals reflect their inner worlds and can be their owns. At the beginning of this study, which aims to examine the effect of the house on the individual in terms of how the house emerged from the shelter and how the first cities were formed were examined in lights of the Henrik Ibsen's plays such as A Doll's House, Hedda Gabler, Ghosts, the Master Builder, and the Wild Duck. In the first chapter, the historical development of the house from the antiquity to the 19th century is explained. In the second chapter, starting from the relationship of the house with the city, sense of belonging and privacy of the house are mentioned. In the third chapter, a spatial analysis was made by looking at the effects of the domestic space on the flat character in the selected plays of Ibsen. In conclusion, it was found that the space in the stage, which Ibsen reflects the bourgeois family life and presented in a realistic way, is explained in detail as much as the flat character, and the place is directly proportional to the mood of the flat characters.
