Öncelikle taş ve obsidyen yontarak başladığı araç gereç yapımına, on binlerce yıl öncesinde kili şekillendirip gün ısısında kurutarak, Neolitik Dönem'den itibaren ise piroteknolojik yöntemle seramikle devam etmiştir. Plastik bir malzeme olan kilin şekillendirilmesiyle oluşturulan seramiğin ilk teknikleri basit elle şekillendirme, sepet sıvama vb. yapım yöntemleridir. İlk yöntemlerle beslenme güdüsüyle başlayan, kilin önce şekillendirilerek sonra da ısıl yöntemle sertleştirilerek çanak çömlek yapımı, sonraki dönemlerde daha da geliştirilmiş, Tunç Çağı'nda ilk endüstriyel üretim olarak kabul edilen çarklı çömlekçilikle şekillendirme yöntemlerine ulaşılmıştır. Çarklı çömlekçilikle birlikte seramik kap kacak ürünlerde şekillendirme daha da anlamlı hale gelmiş ve uzun yıllar boyunca gelişimini sürdürmüştür. Seramik üretimi ve sanatında sürdürülen bu gelişim, çeşitli teknolojik aşamalardan geçerek günümüze kadar devam etmiş, bilgisayar destekli modelleme yöntemleriyle en son üç boyutlu yazıcılarda farklı bir boyut kazanmıştır. Özellikle 20. yüzyılda aşama kaydeden bilgisayara ve yazılımlara dayalı teknolojiler, söz konusu gelişimin en önemli destekçileri olmuştur. Bilgisayar aracılığı ile tasarım, yazılım destekli olarak herhangi bir şekil ya da çizimin dijital ortama aktarılıp geliştirilerek nihai olarak oluşturulduğu bir süreçtir. Bu süreci bilgisayar ortamına aktaran ilk başarılı uygulama, CAM/CAD (Computer Aided Design) programıdır. Bu sistemin adımları değişik adlar altındaki programlarla hızlandırılarak çağdaş inovasyon kapsamında üç boyutlu yazılım programlarına ulaşılmıştır. Üç boyutlu dijital teknoloji, seramik alanında insanın el ile yapımı mümkün olmayan formların katmanlı/eklemeli baskı tekniği ile üretimlerini ortaya koyduğu ve mümkün olduğu kadar az hata ile minimum sürede üretimini oluşturduğu, ekstra model ve kalıplara ihtiyaç duymaksızın seri üretimlerini gerçekleştirmesiyle beraber seramik alanına alternatif ve inovatif seçenekler sunmuştur. Yapılan bu tez çalışması kapsamında, günümüz endüstriyel üretim tarzlarında çok önemli bir yeri olan seramik üretiminde özellikle modellemede çok önemli bir yeri olan üç boyutlu yazıcılarla seramik üretiminin, Tarihöncesi çağlardan itibaren günümüze değin sanatsal ve teknolojik boyutta gelişimi anlatılmak istenmiştir. With wheel pottery, shaping in ceramic pottery products has become even more meaningful and has continued its development for many years. This development, continued in the production and art of ceramics, has continued until today, passing through various technological stages, and has gained a different dimension in the latest three-dimensional printers with computer-aided modeling methods. Especially in the 20th century, technologies based on computers and software have been the most important supporters of this development. Computer-aided design is a process in which any shape or drawing is transferred to digital media, developed and finally created with software support. The first successful application that transfers this process to the computer environment is the CAM/CAD (Computer Aided Design) program. The steps of this system were accelerated with programs under different names, and three-dimensional software programs were reached within the scope of contemporary innovation. Three-dimensional digital technology is an alternative and innovative alternative to the field of ceramics, with the production of forms that cannot be made by hand in the field of ceramics with the layered / additive printing technique and the production of them in a minimum time with as little error as possible, without the need for extra models and molds. offered options.
