Tezin konusu; "Bolu Seben İlçesi Yöresel Bezinden Yola Çıkarak Döpiyes (Etek-Ceket) Giyimine Yönelik Güncel Tasarımlar" olarak seçilmiştir. Bölgede yapılan alan araştırmasında geçmişte dokuma ile uğraşan kişilere ulaşılmış, bu kişilerle sözlü görüşmeler yapılmış ve görüşmeler kayıt altına alınmıştır. Ayrıca yörede dokunmuş alaca bezlerden üretilmiş giysiler, bez örnekleri toplanmış, fotoğrafları çekilerek belgelenmiştir. Dokumaların boyut, çözgü ve atkı sıklıkları, kullanılan hammaddeleri, dokunduğu tezgâh tipleri, dokumalarda görülen kompozisyon, desen, renk ve teknik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Alan araştırması sonucu desen, kompozisyon özellikleri birbirine benzeyen dokumalar ayrılarak, farklı olan 7 adet Seben alacasının dokuma analizleri yapılmış ve teze eklenmiştir. Daha sonra konu ile ilgili literatür taraması yapılmış, bulunan kaynaklar tez planına göre gruplandırılmıştır. Kaynaklar, görsel ve yazılı kaynaklar olarak tasnif edilmiştir. Elde edilen bilgiler ışığında, Bolu ili Seben ilçesinde Alaca dokumuş kişilerle sözlü görüşmeler yapılmış, elde edilen bilgiler ve tespit edilen alaca bezleri bilgi formlarına işlenmiştir. Alan araştırması sonucu satın alma yoluyla temin edilen Seben'in yöresel bezlerinden (kareli ya da yörede çatkılı denilen bez çeşitleri) "Nostalji" temalı Seben alacası çeşitlerinden güncel kadın giyimine yönelik 6 adet etek ceketten oluşan döpiyes tasarımı yapılmıştır. Bu tasarımlardan 3adedi dikilmiştir. 3 tasarımın da bilgisayar ortamında giydirmesi yapılmıştır. Bu tasarım önerileriyle, günümüzde hemen hemen bitme noktasına gelen yöresel bezlerden Seben Alaca dokumasının sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması ve Seben alacasının unutulmaması, gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması amaçlanmıştır. The subject for the present study was chosen as "Contemporary Designs For Deux-Pièces (Skirt-Jacket) Clothing Made From The Local Fabric Of Bolu, called Seben-cloth". To this end, people who were engaged in weaving in the past were contacted, interviewed, and the interviews were recorded. In addition, pieces of clothing made from the local alaca (multi-coloured) fabrics and samples of fabrics were collected and photographically documented. The fabrics were analysed for size, warping and weft density, types of weaving looms, compositions, patterns, colour, and technical properties. As a result of the field study, the fabrics with similar compositions were grouped, and the analyses of weaving of a total of seven main types of Seben-cloth were presented in the study. Then the relevant literature on the subject was reviewed and grouped according to the thesis plan. The resources were categorized as visual and written resources. Based on the information acquired, people who were engaged in alaca-weaving in Seben in the past were interviewed, and their reports as well as the samples of alaca-cloth collected were recorded on information forms. As a result of the field study, a total of six female deux-pièces (skirt-jacket) designs were created around the theme of "nostalgia" from the chequered alaca fabrics of Seben, locally known as 'çatkılı', which were acquired through purchase. Of the six designs, three were produced, and the other three were enrobed on digital models. With these designs, it is aimed to ensure that the tradition of one of the local fabrics that has sunk into oblivion, the alaca, is maintained and passed down to future generations.
