Osmanlı döneminin önemli kültür unsurlarından biri olan kumaşlar, içeriğinde yer alan motif ve desenleri ile geçmişten günümüze kadar taşınmış ve bu değerlerin birçoğunun korunması başarılmıştır. Osmanlı kumaş motiflerinden biri olan ve geçmişte sadece Osmanlı uygarlığının bu çiçeği dikkate alıp birçok sanatsal alanda kullanmış olması ele alınan konunun ana temasını oluşturmaktadır. Osmanlı dönemi kumaş motiflerinde lâle çiçeği, 15. yüzyıl sonu 16. yüzyıl başlarında Osmanlı kültüründe görülmeye başlanmış olup, mücevher, çini, mimari, tezhip vb. gibi birçok sanat dallarında da lâle çiçeği kendini göstermiştir. Lâle çiçeğinin, dönemin kadife, kemha, atlas, ipek vb. gibi çeşitli kumaşlarında kendini motif ve desen olarak, özellikle sultanlar ve sadrazamlar gibi sarayın üst düzey yöneticilerinin giydiği kaftan olarak bilinen kumaşlarda kendini göstermesi bu çiçeğin ne kadar önemsendiğinin göstergesi olmaktadır. Lâle çiçeğinin kumaşlarda çeşitli form ve özelliklerde, farklı kumaş dokuma türlerinde ve farklı yöntemlerle dokunarak ya da işlenerek kullanılmış olduğu, Osmanlı döneminin sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik yapısındaki değişikliklere paralel olarak ilerlediği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, 16.-18. y.y. Osmanlı dönemi kumaşlarında görülen lâle çiçeği motifi incelenmiş ve tasarım ilkelerine uygun dokuma tasarım önerileri sunulmuştur. The fabrics, which are one of the important cultural elements of the Ottoman Period have been moved from the post to the present with their motifs and patterns and many of these volues have been preserved. One of the Ottoman fabric motifs, and the fact that only the Ottoman civilization took this flower into consideration and used it in many artistic fields in the past, constitutes the main theme of the subject. Tulip flower in the Ottoman period cloth motifs began to be seen in the Ottoman culture at the end of the 15th century and at the beginning of the 16th century, and tulip flowers appeared in many branches of art such as jewelery, tile, architecture, illumination, etc. Tulip flower, velvet, kemha, atlas, silk, etc. in various fabrics, such as motifs and patterns, especially the sultans and grand viziers of the palace, such as the woven by the high-level managers, is known to show how important this flower. It is seen that tulip flower has been used in various forms and features, different types of fabric weaving and by weaving or embroidering with different methods and progressing in parallel with the changes in the social, cultural and economic structure of the Ottoman period. In this study, the tulip motif seen in 16th - 18th century Ottoman fabrics was examined and weaving design proposals in accordance with design principles were presented.
