Bu araştırmanın amacı; KaracabeyMeslek Yüksekokulu’nun Karacabey’e yaptığı sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik katkılarailişkin öğrenci algılarını incelemek, öğrencilerin tanımlayıcı özellikleriaçısından meslek yüksekokulunun Karacabey’e yaptığı sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomikkatkılara ilişkin algılarında farklılaşma olup olmadığını incelemektir. Araştırma2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılında Karacabey Meslek Yüksekokulu’nda eğitim gören768 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler 15-30 Mayıs 2015tarihleri arasında hazırlanan online anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerindeğerlendirilmesi bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 22.0 programı ilegerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; Karacabey Meslek Yüksekokulu’nunKaracabey ekonomisine sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik açıdan orta düzeyde katkısağladığı belirlenmiştir. Karacabey Meslek Yüksekokulu Karacabey’e sosyal vekültürel açıdan bir canlılık getirmiş, toplumsal ve kültürel değerleringelişimine, modern yaşamının gelişmesine katkıda bulunmuştur, fakat meslekyüksekokulunun Karacabey’e yaptığı sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik katkı yeterlidüzeyde değildir, bu açıdan öğrenci beklentilerini karşılayamamıştır. Diğertaraftan öğrencilerin yaşlarına, eğitim gördükleri bölümlere, kaldıklarıyerlere, aylık gelir düzeylerine, barınma, gıda ve sosyal harcama tutarlarınagöre farklılık gösterdiği, aylık olarak harcama tutarları arttığında genelolarak meslek yüksekokulunun Karacabey’e yaptığı katkı düzeyine ilişkinalgılarının da arttığı belirlenmiştir. The aim of this research is to examine the perceptionsof students about Karacabey Vocational School's socio-cultural and economiccontribution to Karacabey and in terms of descriptive characteristics ofstudents to examine whether there is a difference in their perception aboutVocational School's socio-cultural and economic contribution to Karacabey. Researchwas carried out on the 2015-2016 academic year with 768 students from KaracabeyVocational School. Research data were collected through online questionnairesprepared between May 15-30, 2015. Evaluation of the data was performed withSPSS 22.0 computer program. At the result of the research, it has beendetermined that Karacabey Vocational School's socio-cultural and economiccontribution to Karacabey is on medium level. Karacabey Vocational School hasbrought a vitality to Karacabey in social and cultural aspects, has contributedto the development of modern life and to the development of social and culturalvalues, but vocational school's socio-cultural and economic contribution toKaracabey is not sufficient, in this regard it couldn’t meet the expectationsof students. On the other hand, students differ from each other by their ages, departments,the place where they live, monthly income, shelter, food and social spendingamounts and it has been determined that when their monthly amount ofexpenditure increases the perception of the level of the vocational school'scontribution to Karacabey in general increases as well.
