The social and political problems experienced in the Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia have become a current issue in the country. Not only the adults and young adults but also the children are now at the center of the problems. The wording “stone-throwing children”, which has come to the fore in recent years, represents this situation. This study includes 26 respondent children who are claimed to throw stone, or detected to throw stone through photograph, camera or etc., or detained in the course of events, or whose case are not completed but likely commit throwing stone. In this study where the semi-structured interview, one of the qualitative research methods has been applied, it is aimed to find out the religious background and the religiousness of the children who are inclined to terrorism, to specify the relationship between committing this action and religiousness. This study also aims to highlight the importance of the religious education in protecting the new generation and preventing terrorism, and to suggest some solutions for a proper religious education.Doğu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinde yaşanan sosyal-siyasal sorunlar ülke gündemini işgal etmektedir. Yaşanan problemlerin merkezinde sadece yetişkinler veya gençler değil artık çocuklar da bulunmaktadır. Gündemimize son yıllarda oturan “taş atan çocuklar” tabiri bu durumun bir ifadesidir. İşte bu makale Şırnak ili özelinde bizzat taş attığı iddia edilen, taş atma eylemlerinde fotoğraf, kamera veya benzeri yollarla tespit edilen ya da genellikle olay esnasında gözaltına alınan ve mahkemesi henüz neticelenmemiş, taş atma eylemi içerisinde olduğu kuvvetle muhtemel olan 26 katılımcı çocuk üzerinde yapılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan “yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme” metodunun uygulandığı bu araştırmada özellikle terör olayları ile bağlantılı çocukların dini alt yapılarını ve dindarlık durumlarını tespit etmek, bu eylemlere katılma ile dindarlık arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymak amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca yeni neslin muhafazası ve terörün önlenmesi noktasında din eğitiminin önemine işaret etmek ve sağlıklı dini eğitim için bir takım önerileri dile getirmek bu araştırmanın amaçları arasındadır.
