Today, due to increasing competition, providing good products orquality services has become an important problem. Businesses have resorted tomany methods in order to solve quality problems and to provide customersatisfaction. One of these methods is the experimental design. With theexperimental design, the parameter values and the change on the output variableare reduced. In this study, Shainin's experimental design is used to decrease theoutput variability. The application is carried out in a company that producesyarn. In this study, the output variability of the products which are named as30/1 PTR are discussed. Factors that cause output variability on the strengthof yarns have been determined as fiber length, fiber strength and twistquantity. Günümüzde rekabetin artmasıdolayısıyla iyi ürün veya kaliteli hizmet sunmak önemli bir problem halinegelmiştir. İşletmeler, kalite problemlerini gidermek ve müşteri memnuniyetinisağlamak amacıyla birçok yönteme başvurmuştur. Bu yöntemlerden birisi de deneytasarımıdır. Deney tasarımı ile parametre değerleri ile çıktı değişkeniüzerinde değişimde azalma sağlanır. Bu çalışmada çıktı değişkenliğini azaltmayayönelik Shainin deney tasarımı kullanılmıştır. Uygulama iplik üretimi yapan birfirmada yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada işletmenin   30/1 PTR olarak isimlendirdiği ipkiklerdeki çıktıdeğişkenliği ele alınmıştır. İpliklerin mukavemetleri üzerindeki çıktıdeğişkenliği neden olan faktörler elyaf uzunluğu, elyaf mukavemeti, bükümmiktarı olarak belirlenmiştir.
