Teachersmay occasionally encounter inappropriate behaviors of students. Thesereactions, which students make systematically, plan, against a situation thatis negative or possible to them, are expressed as resistance behavior. The factthat the teachers are aware of student resistance behaviors and the strategiesfor this situation are very important in terms of the failure of the learning-teachingprocess. Based on this situation, this research, which was conducted with theaim of examining the opinions, strategies and suggestions about studentresistance behaviors from the point of view of teachers working in secondaryschools, is a qualitative study conducted in phenomenological pattern.Descriptive analysis was used in the data analysis. The study was carried outon 70 teachers working in three state secondary schools located in the citycenter of Adana in 2017-2018 academic year and in different socio-economiclevels (lower-middle-upper). "Teacher Interview Form for StudentResistance Behavior" prepared by the authors was used in the collection ofthe data. As a result of the study, it was seen that teachers' perceptionsabout resistance behaviors were negative. It may be advisable to providein-service training to inform teachers about their resistance behavior and toimplement strategies to cope with resistance behaviors.Öğretmenlerzaman zaman öğrencilerin uygun olmayan hareketleriyle karşılaşabilirler.Öğrencilerin sistemli bir şekilde, planlayarak, kendilerince olumsuz olan veyaolabilecek bir duruma karşı gerçekleştirdikleri bu tepkiler direnç davranışıolarak ifade edilmektedir. Öğretmenlerin, öğrenci direnç davranışlarınınfarkında olması ve bu duruma yönelik stratejileri öğrenme-öğretme sürecininaksamaması açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu durum temel alınarakortaokullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin bakış açısından, öğrenci dirençdavranışlarına ilişkin görüşleri, stratejileri ve önerileri incelemek amacıylayapılan bu araştırma, fenomenolojik desende yapılan nitel bir çalışmadır. Verianalizinde betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretimyılında Adana il merkezinde bulunan yedi devlet ortaokulunda görev yapan 70öğretmen üzerinde yapılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında yazarlar tarafındanhazırlanan “Öğrenci Direnç Davranışlarına Yönelik Öğretmen Görüşme Formu”kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin direnç davranışlarına ilişkinalgılarının olumsuz olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin direnç davranışlarıkonusunda bilgilendirilmesi için ve direnç davranışlarıyla baş etmestratejilerini uygulayabilmesi için hizmet içi eğitimler verilmesiönerilebilir.
