Günümüzdeağaçlandırmalarının planlanması ve yönetimi giderek önem kazanmakta, aynızamanda ağaçlar insanlara ve kent ekosistemine sağladığı hizmet ve katkılarıaçısından ön plana çıkmaktadır. UFORE (Urban Forest Effects / Kent OrmanıEtkileri) modeli Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde geliştirilen ve kentsel ağaçtopluluklarının kente sağladığı işlevsel etkilerini belirlemek vedeğerlendirmek için kullanılan uluslararası bir modeldir. Bu model sayesindegünümüzün en önemli konularından olan karbon depolama, hava kirliliği kontrolü,bina enerji kullanımı etkileri gibi kent ağaçlarının kent ekosisteminesağladığı hizmet ve katkıların daha bilimsel bir şekilde ortaya konulması mümkünolabilecektir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, UFORE modelin yapısını, uygulamaprensiplerini ve bileşenlerini inceleyerek modelin kent ekosisteminekatkılarını ve Türkiye koşullarında kullanılabilirliğini irdelemektir. Nowadays, planning and management of afforestation is gainingimportance. At the same time, trees are important in terms of their servicesand contributions to people and urban ecosystem. The UFORE model is aninternational model used to assess urban tree communities and is a modeldeveloped in the United States. Thanks to this model, it will be possible topresent the services and contributions provided by urban trees to the cityecosystem in a more scientific way such as controlling carbon emission, airpollution control, building energy use effects, which are the most importantproblems of today. The main purpose of this study is to examine the structure,application principles and components of the UFORE model and to examine itscontribution to urban ecosystem and its usability under the conditions ofTurkey.
