Kent ve kentlileşme insanoğlunun var olması ile başlayan bir olgudur. Sosyal bir varlık olan insan, sadece kendi barınağını inşa etmekle kalmamış, içinde yaşayacağı yerleşimleri de dizaynetmiştir. Tekil barınağında fiziksel olarak ihtiyaç duyduğu mekanları oluştururken içinde yaşadığı yerleşimde de ortak ihtiyaç duyulan mekanları meydana getirmiştir. Hiç şüphesiz ilk insandan günümüze insanoğlunun gerek bireysel gerekse toplumsal olarak ihtiyaç duyduğu en önemli mekanizmalardan biri ise dindir. Her toplumda az veya çok etkisi görülen inanç olgusunun kentlerdeki somutlaşmış hallerini ise dini yapılar oluşturmaktadır. İslam kentleri İslami yaşamın kentsel ölçekteki yaşana bilirliğin birer sembolüdürler. Müslüman halkın yaşadığı bir kent ile diğer dinlere mensup insanların yaşadığı kentleri birbirinden ayıran yapıların başında dini yapılar gelir. Tekke yapıları da dini yapılar grubunun özellikle islam kentindeki önemli yapılarından biridir. Bu çalışmada tekke yapılarının kent dokusunda üstlendiği işlevler ve bunun önemi ile günümüzde ortadan kalkmaları neticesinde oluşturduğu eksiklik ele alınmaktadır
 
Urban and urbanization are a phenomenon that started with the existence of human beings. The man is a social being, not only built his own shelter, but also has designed to live in the settlements. Whereas creating places for the physical needs of single shelter in which he lived also gave rise to the common places are needed at settlement. As needs in the human being from the first man today one of the most important mechanisms is no doubt the religion both individually and socially In every society the embodiment in the urban of the effect of more or less of belief phenomenon is the religious buildings. Islamic cities are symbols of the feasibility of performing Islamic life in a scale of urban. Segregation from a city where the Muslim population people other cities where people of other religions is religious structures that one of the structures is at the beginning. Tekke structures are one of a group of religious buildings, especially in Islamic architecture, is one of the most important buildings in the city. In this study, the importance of functions and structures of tekkes in urban texture is inspected and the deficiency as a result of destroying of this structure is considered nowadays
