Türk-Rus İlişkileri tarihsel açıdan iki devlet için önem arz ettiği gibi, bulundukları bölgelerin kaderini belirlemede de etkili olmuştur. Bununla birlikte iki ülke arasındaki ilişkiler tarihin genel akışında rekabetçi bir seyir izlemektedir. İlişkilerin bu hareket zemininde gerçekleşmesi, sık sık krizlerin yaşanmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu çalışma öncelikle Türk-Rus İlişkilerinin tarihsel perspektiften incelemesi yapılmış ve bugünkü ilişkilere ışık tutulmuştur. Ayrıca NATO ittifakının etkisinden bahsedilmiş, bunun ilişkilere olan etkisi bağımsız bir değişken olarak incelenmiştir. Özellikle 2004 sonrasında iki önemli siyasi figür olan Vladimir Putin ve Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’ın inisiyatifinde gelişen ilişkiler ve uçak krizini de kapsayan dönem ele alınmıştır. Yakın dönemde krizlerin yaşanmasına sebep olan Kırım ve Suriye konuları çalışmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Rusya Federasyonu ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin yaşadığı Uçak Krizinin ilişkilerin geleceğini nasıl etkileyeceği konusunda, yapılan basın taramasından hareketle öngörüde bulunulacaktır.Historically, the relations between Turkey and Russia are important for both of these countries in the way it determines the fate of the region. In addition to this, the relationship takes a competitive course in the historical context. Since the relationship occurred at this competitive ground, it caused many crises. This research focuses on the relations between Turkey and Russia through historical perspective in order to shed light on the current relations. On the other side, we had considered the NATO alliance and its impact on these relations as one independent variable in order to make probable explanation. Especially, after 2003 where two important political figures, Erdogan and Putin took initiative in the course of the relations and the tension caused by the fighter jet crisis. Crimea and the Syrian issues will be included in the study as another cause of the recent growing crisis. We expect to make a prediction about the future of the relationship between the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation depending on the local press analysis on the matter of fighter jet shot down.
