There seems to be 4 stages of developments in industry. The integration of automation into production process has led to remarkable improvements during the period called 3rd industrial revolution. Following this stage, technology, inevitably, has become an important part of daily life and has taken a significant role in the emergence of 4th industrial revolution which is referred as “Industry 4.0”. It is clear that 4th industrial revolution will be the most powerful one to dominate and designate the changes compared to the other three industrial revolutions. Especially, financial reporting process will be affected by these changes, through the use of Internet of Things (IoT), one of the leading factors of Industry 4.0. The present study reviews the effects of Industry 4.0 on IFRS in two aspects. First the paper aims to predict how the valuation measurements playing a role in determining the values of the assets will change by synthesizing the big data obtained via IoT. The second aim of the paper is to anticipate how the difficulty of judgments of multiple valuation measurements in IFRS will be managed through the interaction of IoT and humans.
Sanayideki gelişmelere bakıldığında 4 aşamadan oluştuğu görülmektedir. 3. sanayi devrimi olarak adlandırılan aşamada otomasyonun, üretim sürecine entegre edilmesiyle önemli gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Bu aşamadan sonra teknoloji, önlenemez bir şekilde insan hayatının önemli bir unsuru haline gelmiş ve Endüstri 4.0 olarak da isimlendirilen 4. sanayi devriminin ortaya çıkmasında önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir. 4. sanayi devriminin, diğer sanayi devrimlerine göre daha fazla değişim gücüne sahip olacağı açıktır. Özellikle finansal raporlama süreci, Endüstri 4.0’da başı çeken faktörlerden biri olan nesnelerin internetinden (IoT - Internet of Things) faydalanılmasıyla birlikte bu değişimlerden etkilenecektir. Bu çalışma, Endüstri 4.0’ın UFRS’ye etkilerini iki açıdan araştırmayı amaçlamaktır. Çalışma ilk olarak, nesnelerin interneti yoluyla elde edilen büyük verilerin (big data), sentezlenerek kullanılması yoluyla işletmelerdeki varlıkların değerlerinin belirlenmesinde rol oynayan değerleme ölçülerinin, nasıl değişiklik göstereceğine ilişkin öngörülerde bulunmayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışmanın diğer bir amacı, UFRS’de yer alan çok sayıdaki değerleme ölçüsüne ilişkin yargıda bulunma zorluğunun, yine nesnelerin interneti ile insanların ve nesnelerin, birbirleri ile iletişime geçerek bu zorluğu nasıl aşacağına dair öngörülerde bulunmaktır.
