The wave shape, which has a certain duration and whose average value during this period equals zero, is called wavelet. Wavelets are used at the points where the Fourier transform is insufficient, by analyzing a function in the time domain by converting it into a function in the frequency domain. The basic statistical application of wavelets is parameter estimation, also known as "denoising signal" or "smoothing". In this study, statistical evaluation of wavelet transform and thresholds is emphasized. In this context, average temperature, wind speed, humidity and pressure variables are taken from the German meteorological service for the analysis in the study. When the graphs of these variables are examined, it is seen that the data is noisy. The data is denoised by using wavelet transform. Different types of wavelet are applied for the transformation and regression analysis is applied to the transformed data obtained. The best regression model is determined according to the AIC and RMSEA values of the regression model which is obtained for each wavelet type.Belirli bir süreye sahip olan ve bu süre içerisindeki ortalama değeri sıfıra eşit olan dalga şekline Dalgacık (wavelet) adı verilmektedir. Dalgacıklar, zaman alanındaki bir fonksiyonu frekans alanındaki bir fonksiyona çevirerek analiz eden Fourier dönüşümünün yetersiz kaldığı noktalarda kullanılmıştır. Dalgacıkların temel istatistiksel uygulaması "sinyali gürültüden arındırma" veya "düzleştirme" olarak da bilinen parametre kestirimidir. Bu çalışmada dalgacık dönüşümü ve eşiklerdirmenin istatistiksel anlamda değerlendirilmesi üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu kapsamda çalışmada kullanılmak üzere Almanya meteoroloji servisinden ortalama sıcaklık, rüzgar hızı, nem ve basınç değişkenleri alınmıştır. Bu değişkenlere ait grafikler incelendiğinde verilerin gürültülü olduğu görülmüş ve dalgacık dönüşümü ile veriler gürültüden arındırılmıştır. Dönüşüm yapılırken farklı dalgacık türleri uygulanmış ve elde edilen dönüştürülmüş verilere regresyon analizi uygulanmıştır. Her bir dalgacık türü için elde edilen regresyon modeline ait AIC ve RMSE değerlerine göre en iyi regresyon modeli belirlenmiştir.
