<p>In this study, cotton fabrics were treated with temperature-water responsivenanocomposites consisting of shape memory polyurethane (SMPU) and cellulosenanowhiskers (CNWs), for smart crease recovery/retention functions besidesbreathability with dynamic porosity. The smart crease recovery/retention functions weredetermined in air and water at different temperatures simulating laundry and dryingprocesses and air permeability test was conducted at different fabric temperatures. FT-IRand SEM analyses confirm the SMPU-CNW nanocomposite presence on fabric. Testresults show that the treated cotton fabrics have not only dual responsive shape memoryproperties providing smart permeability, but also dynamic crease recovery/retention withenhanced end-use properties. <br></p>
