Yenilenebilir enerji kaynağı olarak kullanılabilecek biyokütleden bir tanesi de atıksu arıtma tesislerinde arıtma sonrası oluşan arıtma çamurlarıdır. Arıtma çamurlarının anaerobik proseslerde çürütülmesi ile biyogaz eldesi mümkün olmaktadır. Atıksu arıtma tesislerinin işletme maliyetlerinin önemli bir kısmını enerji maliyetleri oluşturmaktadır. Anaerobik çamur çürütücülerinde maksimum verimin sağlanabilmesi için prosesin optimum katı madde alıkonma süresi (SRT)’de ve işletme parametre değerlerinde çalıştırılması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada; 200 bin m3/gün kapasiteli olan ve 4 kademeli Bardenpho prosesinden oluşan Konya kentsel atıksu arıtma tesisinde bulunan 4 adet mezofilik anaerobik çamur çürütücülerde gerçek ölçekli bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Ortalama işletme sıcaklığı ve hacimleri aynı olan referans ve denek çürütücüler seçilmiştir. Referans çürütücüde, tasarım değeri olan SRT 20 gün olacak şekilde 240 gün boyunca, denek çürütücülerde ise SRT 17 ve 23 gün olacak şekilde 120’şer gün boyunca gerçek ölçekli proses işletilmiştir. Anaerobik çamur çürütücülerin işletme parametrelerinden olan Uçucu Yağ Asitleri (UYA) ve Alkalinite değerlerinin farklı SRT’lerde biyogaz üretimine olan etkileri araştırılmıştır. SRT 17, 20 ve 23 gün için sırasıyla %86, %83, %87 UYA giderimi gerçekleşmiştir. En fazla biyogaz üretimi SRT 17 gün senaryosunda ortalama 4,756 m3/gün olarak gerçekleşmiştir.There is an increasing interest on the use of renewable energy sources to supply an important amount of the energy demand within the WWTP. The sludge produced in the wastewater treatment plants is one of the renewable energy sources as biomass. It is possible to produce biogas after the digestion of sludge by means of anaerobic processes. An important part of the operational costs of the waste water treatment plants (WWTP) is the energy cost. In order to achieve maximum efficiency, the process must operate in optimum solid retention time (SRT), other operational parameter values.In this study, a real scale research has been done in Konya urban wastewater treatment plant of 200.000 m3/day capacity consisting of 4 stage Bardenpho process with 4 mesophilic anaerobic sludge digestors. Same average operational temperature and volume values are chosen for reference and experimental digestors. The reference digestor with the design values of 20 days SRT operated for 240 days and the experimental digestor with SRT 17 and SRT 23 operated 120 days on real scale process. The effects of the Volatile Fat Acids (VFA) and alkalinity on different SRT values are researched during the production of biogas. For SRT 17, 20 and 23 days, 86%, 83% and 87% VFA removal was achieved, respectively. The highest biogas production was realized as 4,756 m3/day in the SRT 17 day scenario.
