ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of thegreater occipital nerve (GON) pulsed radiofrequency(PRF) procedure performed to migraine patients onheadache severity, frequency and duration.Material and Methodsİn this retrospective study, the data of 27 patients witha diagnosis of resistant migraine who underwent GONPRF were scanned. The numerical evaluation scale(NRS), headache frequency and duration before theprocedure, 1, 3, 6, 9 months after the procedure,NRS, frequency and duration values of the patientswere compared.ResultsThe mean age of the patients was 41.11±12.18. Themean duration of disease diagnosis (years) was12.74±9.42. The mean NRS values of the patientsbefore the GON PRF procedure were 8.81±0.62,the mean attack frequency (month) values were7.70±4.19, and the mean attack duration (hour) valueswere 36.44±20.82. After the GON PRF procedure,1, 3, 6, 9 months NRS, attack frequency and attackduration of the patients were found to be statisticallysignificantly lower when compared with pre-procedureNRS, attack frequency and attack duration.ConclusionsIn our study, we observed that the GON PRFprocedure reduced the severity, frequency andduration of attacks over a 9-month period.
AmaçBu çalışmanın amacı migren hastalarına uygulananbüyük oksipital sinir (GON) pulsed radyofrekans(PRF) işleminin baş ağrısı şiddet, sıklık ve sürelerineetkisini değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve YöntemBu retrospektif çalışmada dirençli migren tanısı olanve GON PRF işlemi uygulanmış 27 hastanın verileritarandı. Hastaların işlemden önceki sayısal derecelendirmeölçeği (NRS), baş ağrısı sıklığı ve süresi,işlemden sonraki 1.,3.,6.,9. aylardaki NRS, baş ağrısısıklık ve süre değerleriyle karşılaştırıldı.BulgularHastaların yaş ortalamaları 41,11±12,18’di. Hastalıktanı süreleri (yıl) ortalama 12,74±9,42’di. HastalarınGON PRF işlemi öncesi NRS değerleri 8,81±0,62,atak sıklık (ay) değerleri 7,70±4,19, atak süreleri(saat) değerleri 36,44±20,82’di. Hastaların GON PRFişlemi sonrası 1.,3.,6.,9. aylardaki NRS, atak sıklığıve atak süreleri işlem öncesi NRS, atak sıklığı ve ataksüreleri ile kıyaslandığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlıderecede düşük bulundu.SonuçBiz çalışmamızda GON PRF işleminin 9 aylık süreboyunca migren atak şiddetini, sıklığını ve süresiniazalttığını gözlemledik.
