Description:
The radiation is used in a variety of different fields, and due to its harmful effect on human cell, it has been one of the most important topic in physics. Most of the recent works were related to the development of radiation shielding materials. In this study, the neutron and gamma ray shielding properties of iron-boron-phosphate-based Nd2O3-added composites have been obtained, and the effect of Nd2O3 rate on these properties has been investigated. The composite formulated was 10MoO(3) - (9 - x)(3.6Fe(2)O(3) - B2O3 - 5.4P(2)O(5)) -xNd(2)O(3) where x=0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 (mol%). The simulations were done using Phy-X/PSD software.
